Saad Muhammad would give Ali a good fight.

He would get cut to ribbons and stopped but there would be some excitings moments.

John Conteh had great skills, would give Muhammad a few interesing things to think about in the early rounds before the greatest takes control and stops him.

Wouldn´t be surprised if Conteh cuts Ali with his jab or his head!

José Torres always said he fancied his chances with Ali, the 1960´s version.

Doug Jones did give a young Ali problems but I don´t think Torres would do well once Muhammad had sussed his style.

A peak Archie Moore might be interesting, I think he would still get stopped but take longer than 4 and put in a much better showing.

I'm with McVey,I can't see any particularly beating him.Especially not prime Ali.
I do think an interesting fight tho, would be older Ali (1975-76), against Archie Moore.
Moore was used to fighting heavyweight s and that version of Ali was more stationary.
I can see Archie having some brilliant moments early , catching him with counters and making him hesitate.
But Ali's jab, reach and movement should gradually take over.
Ali by something like 9 -6 in rounds.

None of them would. He's was too big and way too fast for any of them. People are bringing up worse P4P boxers with less speed. He already easily beat some of the best LHWs easily in Patterson, Moore and Foster

Maybe, just maybe Jones Jr's speed and evasiveness keeps it close early.

Oh and no version of Moore wins a single minute of a fight with Ali nevermind a round.

Tarver for the same reasons Jones hated fighting him

Beterbiev for being superior technically and probably stronger too.

Who in his career would you say Ali faced and needed to cut the ring off but couldn't?

Neither have the mobility or speed of Ali, yet for some reason they're going to beat Ali to the punch and he's going to have to cut off the ring to land on them, I mean come on man.

Patterson wasn't a career light heavyweight and Moore was almost 30 years older than Ali, he was close to 50 when they fought. Foster wasn't as good at heavyweight as his other light heavyweight peers. As far as being too big, he wouldn't be too big at heavyweight for Michael Moorer or Michael Spinks. They'd generally be within the same size range. Ali at his prime was 6'3 210-213 lbs generally. Moorer typically was 215 at 6'2 and Spinks was 6'2 200-212 lbs at heavyweight.

Arms too short, fighting Ali with a 72 inch reach you need to be a powerful pressure fighter like Tyson, Ali would out-jab him from the outside and Bivol would have to power to get Ali's respect, beating a tiny Canelo is no indication of how well Bivol would do vs a heavyweight.

Moorer was far bigger than Patterson and had devasting power and more skill than Foster.

Ali would spank Spinks and Moorer silly. Like what is their strengths against Ali? They don't have any

And Patterson had to bulk to be a HW, he was a natural middleweight

Moorer was a similar size to Ali, a southpaw and had more power than a lot of Ali's opposition.

A light heavy against Ali is SOL. Maybe a guy like Bivol could make it interesting because he's as fast as greased lightning himself with great feet.

I think that fight would last as long as Ali wanted it to
