Fury AJ. Poll. Pay £30 PPV at 11pm or Free on Netlix at 4am?

Netflix, can just watch the event at 7 or 8am and fast forward the 'expert punditry' pre fight drivel and one of the fighters holding up their ringwalk by 15 mins to play mind games.

Days staying up all night to watch any fight long gone.

 

PPV but only with a good undercard. I have wondered what they might stick on with it if it was in the States to make it of any relevance to the American audience but perhaps they wouldn't bother. It's difficult (for me at least) to see why Netflix are so keen.

 

I value my sleep too much. Even if I went out for the night, I couldn't possibly stay awake until 4am. I'd pay for 11pm instead.

4am on my weekend off will be a doddle.

Free on Netflix wins for myself all day long as far as I'm concerned. It's not like it is Canelo v Crawford which whilst it was free on Netflix, I would happily have paid a PPV fee to watch.

This however is a fight, whilst having UK value, that is between 2 washed up fighters. Not a chance that I would pay a PPV fee for this. It would have to be beers down the pub on a big screen job if a 2300hrs fight.

 

Thanks for the detailed response. I must admit I am dubious that Fury v Joshua is that type of event for Primetime US coverage and it's revealing that they would prefer a Friday to avoid college football but I am not doubting your rationale for their thinking. I guess we'll only find out if it happens that way, they get the hype train behind it and they release subscriber numbers etc. I'm also not arrogant enough to suggest I would know more than Netflix I just hadn't read or heard anything of consequence from anyone that has spoken on this (until your reply.)

 

Really don't get people that moan at PPV for a 'big fight'. Unless you're broke.

£30 and you can watch from the best camera angle, in the comfort of your living room, go the toilet between rounds, snacks and drinks 5 seconds away in the kitchen, no travel to and from the venue.

If you pay for the cheapest ticket at the fight, you will have a **** view and it will be more expensive than the PPV. £30 to watch from a ringside type view, when a ringside ticket would cost in the thousands, seriously, why complain about a £25/£30 PPV? unless you're broke.

 

I currently wake up at 4am to go to work, so it's not really a problem for me. I would just prefer to watch it with a group of friends on an evening and have a couple of drinks.
