Throwing lots of punches doesn’t win rounds. You actually have to land them. Hernandez was landing more and landing heavier shots. I don’t see any case for Vernon winning more than one round.

 

Cubans man there always so disappointing, it’s funny cause this newer generation are more aggressive ‘fan friendly’ they then get tagged with the boogeyman moniker but there still just hype jobs.

 

nah...veron was too little and not good enough to overcome it. this is you rooting for the smaller gutsy guy fighting against the much bigger, stronger flavor of the week/house fighter. who ultimately couldn't get it done. who ultimately couldn't. get. it. done. if hernandez was all that he would have won by 6 or 7th round KO. neither guy was all that great, you ask me. boots ends the fight at whatever point suits him.

 

Veron was still scoring shots in every round even if Hernandez shots had more visible effect. I scored it a draw on the live show, the Cuban would have big stretches of inactivity where he was consistently outworked and though Veron rarely had him bothered or in trouble, he was still scoriung and it was adding up.

 

I dislike Ennis but he is just so much more proven than Yoenli.

 

Yo have always been a Cuban hater, the guy outworked Feliciano and yet he was outlanded 2 to 1 even after throwing 200 punches more. You have a very interesting view for what it is a robberie.

 

he was throwing punches missing 87% of them, Hernadez was not only more accurate, he landed doble and the telling punches, so how did you scored a 9-1 rounds fight a draw, is beyond me. You should replay the fight.

 

People like to dog on Cuban fighters because they never meet expectations, but Hernandez is good. He is a mandatory for Denzel Bentley, and I think he should win that fight with little trouble.

Is he on Boots' level? HELL NO. The Veron fight was a decisive win, but it was competitive and showed a good deal of holes in Hernandez's game. He should be able to win and unify titles at 160 with ease, though. I would love to see a Xayas fight at 160 with Hernandez in the future.

 

Bud made it clear. If Boots unifies, Bud will come out of retirement and fight him. Boots is fighting Kelly next and Fundora is fighting some random mandatory. If all goes well, should unify an undisputed JMW champ in May, 2026.

Bud v Boots/Fundora in October-December of 2026. Boots/Fundora wont have to worry about Hernandez afterward XD
