A whole career wasting away due to issues with his promoter, his medical issues, and who knows what else.

I'd love to see Virgil snare the Houston Hare.

Timmy's the only bro out there with the balls to get in the ring with Vergil. FACT. But Timmy the Titan has other business to attend to first. I think Jermell will be facing Timmy before the year is out. There's too much money sitting on the table waiting to be hoovered up for that fight not to happen next. Tim might want Lara & a title shot, but he'll be okay with facing Charlo instead. Lara will be given a stay busy title defence & will face the winner. Vergil will need to find another play date & hope that Timmy wins through so he can defend against him.

Wasting career while playing it safe for an Ennis fight. What is point of pulling Charlo out of retirement? This will be a paid sparring session,. At least fight an active fighter. Kelly or Murtazaliev would be better opponent.

Boxing is the most full of **** sport there is. Nothing but fake fantasy fights that don't eventuate or take years to happen when guys are way past their prime. Step aside money, **** fights. Fighters not fighting. The sport of boxing is nothing but smoke and mirrors and corrupt judging.

Yep. Wasting his entire prime when he's got so much potential. Sad ****.

His trainer Robert Garcia has seen this before with his own brother!

True, but it was well known that Mikey Garcia never really liked boxing. He was just good at it. Vergil, on the other hand, seemed to genuinely express that he loved boxing and was trying to make the big fights. For one reason or another, he has been letting his prime slip away.

It would still be a good scalp for Ortiz, and I would back him to do what Canelo couldn't and get it done within the distance. Also if he could KO the other Charlo later on and banish the sport of this familial plague, even better.

So he basically left the hottest division for the deadest division? Looks like he will hit 30 without even fighting for a belt let alone winning one. What a joke.
