Top 10 Cruiserweights of all time?

Sorry, I am taking over this thread. We need a top then to add to the tally!

 

I predicate mine saying that I am very strictly only counting cruiserweight work.

Usyk- wins over 5 other titlists
Holyfield- wins over four other titlists in five fights.
De Leon- Two-time champ, wins over Leon Spinks, CamelX2 and Yanqui Lopez
Briedis- 3-time champ, wins over four other titlists, although Mikaeljon was dodgy
Haye- 3-belt unified champ.
Huck- Tied for cruiserweight defenses. Cunningham, Ofolabi, Arslan, Lebedev (dodgy)
Mormeck- 1-1 against popular Bell. Braithwaite, Virgil Hill X2
Ademek- Wins over Cunningham and popular O'Neil Bell
Cunningham- Wins over Huck, Braithwaite, Wlodarczyk, Guillermo Jones. But many losses.
JC Gomez- Tied for cruiserweight defenses although best name work at heavy.

OTHERS CONSIDERED
Nate Miller- Forgotten man. Wins over Norris, Bert Cooper, and Qawi.
Dwight Muhammed Qawi- Didn't do a lot at this weight. Leon Spinks and Piet Krous
Denis Lebedev- Should have Huck and Jones (by DQ) Instead, faded Toney, shot Roy Jones.
Ice Cole- Nate MilerX2, and James Warring
O'Neil Bell- Knockout of Mormeck...Arthur Williams. I don't get it.
James Toney- Not much at this weight. Jirov and Adolpho Washington
Orlin Norris- Best wins at heavy. Arthur Williams and Adolpho Washington.
Vassily Jirov- Trying hard to find the big wins, here
Marvin Camel- As a pioneer.
Guillermo Jones- PEDS user. **** him. Few good wins anyway.

 

Love that top 5, I think I would put Jirov in the 6-10.

Awesome thread for an overlooked division.

 

It’s really a divisions of two great fighters and then a lot of also-rans.

There have been some fine fighters who passed through like Qawi and Toney but not ones with great bodies of work that stand alone on the merits of their work in this division, Holyfield and Usyk aside…

 

Briedis, Marco Huck, and Carlos DeLeon would fight that bill. David Haye, too, who has some good wins even before becoming a unified champ. Juan Carlos Gomez for number of defenses, though not a lot of great names.

 

I think it’s great that you’re doing this. One thing I will say is that there was one guy who only counted fighters after the year 2000 and I don’t think that top ten should count. That would make the points for Usyk and Holyfield extremely close.

 

I completely agree, and we can put an asterix by them.

One thing I will say is that I started a head to head on the Holy and Usyk in the general, and much to my surprise. Usyk ran away with it. I haven't got a dog in the fight, really. Qawi is beloved, and Holy's two wins are leendary, and I think Deleon and Ocosio are very underrated guys, but there it is...
