In a prime for prime fight, Mike would have had a very good chance of beating Bernard. It's very obvious that you aren't in any way knowledgeable of Mike's career.
Wrong again? When have I been wrong before? No, Joe absolutely did not have at least 15 of his 21 title defences against world level opposition. Joe didn't fight 15 world level fighters from his entire 15 year career. The last time I checked, over half of his 21 defences were against non world level opposition. I can check again.
Do I really need to come out of retirement and teach some you a thing or two about how Calzaghe clearly has the greater resume? I shouldn't have to, but I can feel and old school lesson coming on
You could convince people that black is white. That night is day. You could be a real version of Saul Goodman. But even you couldn't convince anyone that Joe had a better resume.
I'm warning you Loudon! If I have to come out of retirement for this. The pwnage you will suffer would be legendary! You have been warned
This is definitely your finest effort to date. You’ve literally got only 1 of those things correct, but I’ll give you a B. Definitely a B for the added rant. Just a bit of advice for you though. I’d look at editing a few words, as you’ll otherwise end up with a ban. I honestly wouldn’t want to see that. You bring me too much entertainment. Ultimately, my answer to you will always be the same: Come and REFUTE any of my points. I’ll wait.
Are you trying to get me banned, Loudon? Have I hurt your feelings? Someone like you is what the ignore list is made for. So I'll just ignore your posts - all you ever do is disparage Joe Calzaghe, you offer nothing constructive to this website. I've never seen you in RBR threads, threads about current boxers, threads in the lounge, etc.
Am I trying to get you banned?? I have literally told you to edit some of the things that you’ve said, so that you DON’T get banned. Ha!
Funny to see the same posters who dump on Calzaghe fighting past prime Roy and Bernard give McCallum credit for wins over a near novice Collins who took the fight on short notice, Curry who was natural WW, Kalambay--a good but not great fighter, McCrory who was good but not great, Julian Jackson--a good puncher but not a great fighter. McCallum was a very good fighter who twice fought competitively with a weight drained Toney but came up short. These were Toney's last fights at MW. That's his legacy aside from being a great body puncher.
If Jackson, Kalambay, McCrory, and Curry were just good, what words would you use to describe Lacy, Jones, Brewer, Gimenez, Eubank, Sheika, Sobot, Mkrtchyan, Thornberry, Manfredo, Woodhall, Veit, Pudwill, and Reid at the time Calzaghe fought them? Kessler, Bika, and Hopkins (43 years old) are Calzaghe's best wins. In the span of two years, McCallum beat Graham, Collins (who was slighty green), Watson, and Kalambay. Calzaghe is an ATG super-middle, but he is far from having an ATG resume.
There's probably 5 defenses who weren't "World Level", but they only had 1 or 2 losses each. You are really hating on this guy. Eubank: 45-2-2 / WBO Champ Sobot: 14-1 / Possibly not World Level (1st defense) Ferreyra: Fought 4 times for SMW Title / #1 Contender / Never stopped before Calzaghe in 59 pro fights (16 years) Reid: 26-1-1 / Former WBC Champ w/ 3 defenses Thornberry: 22-2 / Fought 2 times for SMW Title Starie: 22-1 / Fought 2 times for SMW Title Sheika: 20-1 / Fought 4 times for SMW Title Woodhall: 26-2 / Former WBC Champ w/ 2 defenses Veit: 30-0 & 45-1 / Beat former IBF Champ (Brewer) McIntyre: 29-2 / Never knocked down before Calz Brewer: 37-8 / Former IBF Champ w/ 3 defenses Jimenez: 21-1 / Possibly not World Level Pudwill: 39-4 / Replacement for Thomas Tate Mitchell: 25-2-1 / Lineal & 2x WBA Champ Mkrtchyan: 18-1 / Possibly not World Level Salem: 23-2 / Possibly not World Level Ashira: 24-1 / Possibly not World Level Lacy: 21-0 / IBF Champ w/ 4 defenses Bika: 20-1-2 / Draw w/ WBC Champ & On "The Contender" Manfredo Jr. 26-3 / On "The Contender" Kessler: 39-0 / WBA & WBC Champ w/ 4 defenses.
1. I am not HATING on him. Criticising him with verifiable facts, is not hating. 2. It doesn’t matter how many times someone has fought at world level or for a title etc. You now have the advantage of being able to look back over time. And it’s very easily provable who was and who wasn’t world level. I will post who wasn’t world level later. I do appreciate your effort though.
