I've never said it wasn't. In fact, I made that abundantly clear

Calzaghe fighting Englishmen Eubank, Reid, Woodhall and Starie in England is not the same as Calzaghe fighting Lacy, Bika and Sheika in England because Calzaghe was very much the home fighters vs Lacy, Bika, and Sheika but against Eubank, Reid, Woodhall and Starie he was not. He was facing English fighters in England and I have never once claimed that's the same disadvantage that Lacy, Bika and Sheika were up against facing Calzaghe in England.

All you have to concede is I'm right and that whilst Calzaghe was not taking the big risk Lacy, Bika and Shieka were facing him in England him fighting those English fighters in world title fights in their country with 10 home officials and 0 Welsh ones it was still disadvantageous to him as it would've been had they fought him in Wales, let alone with 0 English officials and given how he did actually fight B-Hop in the US with a US ref and 3 US judges which literally none of these ''road warriors'' Ward, Roy, or B-Hop ever did once in their career he deserves credit for doing so even if far less so vs those 4 English fighters than he did vs B-Hop in The US

B-Hop vs Mercado I in Ecuador - US ref, 2 US judges, 1 neutral

B-Hop vs Mercado II in the US - US ref and 3 US judges

B-Hop vs Pascal I - ref and 1 judge Canadian, 1 US judge, 1 neutral

B-Hop vs Pascal II in Canada - all neutral officials

Roy vs Lebedev in Russia - US ref and 1 US judge, 1 Russian judge, 1 neutral

Roy vs Green in Australia - Neutral ref and 2 neutral judges, 1 from US (Puerto Rican)

And Ward literally never fought a world title fight or in his foreign opponent's country once in his career but for example

    In the US

Ward vs Kovalev I - US ref and 3 US judges

Ward vs Kovalev II - US ref and 3 US judges

Ward vs Bika - US ref and 3 US judges

    Now watch

Kovalev vs Yarde in Russia - all neutral officials

Kovalev vs Chilemba in US - all neutral officials

Calzaghe vs Bika in the UK - UK ref and judge, 2 neutral judges

And Calzaghe did try to fight B-Hop in the US much earlier and he did fight Veit in Germany and was willing to travel to fight other fighters

I didn't say otherwise but as said even if we put Welsh officials to one side it would've been more advantageous for him to have had neutral judges than English ones and we saw that manifest itself in the Reid and Starie fights ie. 2 of his 4 world title fights in England vs English fighters.

Why are you bringing up his other world title fights when I have specifically been talking about his 4 world title fights in England vs Englishmen and I have made it abundantly clear that Calzaghe was very much the home fighter when he was facing non-British foreigners in England, Scotland and obviously Wales? It's completely irrelevant to what I've been talking about from the get-go

That doesn't matter. The officials for the Kessler fight were all neutral and the scorecards were fair but had they all been British it wouldn't have been fair for Kessler and even more risky for him to have fought him over in Wales which is the norm in the US for world title fights between US fighters and foreigners and, again, I'm talking specifically about Calzaghe's 4 fights in England vs English fighters not the rest of his world title fights

You can stand by what you want but you're still wrong. Again, for the umpteenth time I never said it was a major risk but that it was simply more advantageous for Calzaghe to have fought Eubank, Reid, Woodhall and Starie in Wales even with neutral officials than it was fighting then in England with 10 English officials and 6 neutral ones just as it would've been disadvantageous for Eubank, Reid, Woodhall and Starie fighting him in Wales with zero English officials

I've been consistent with my position all along

I'm not missing your point at all. I've already addressed that above

Again, that's neither here nor there. If Eubank was weight drained it sure had a funny way of manifesting itself in the ring because he fought with a lot of vigour despite the fact Calzaghe set a crazy pace and was on him nonstop from start to finish and Eubank was facing the opponent who set the fastest and most relentless pace out of anyone he fought and he was throwing and taking bombs a plenty throughout and was still strong at the end and the fresher fighter of the two at the finish

Of course it's all on Toney but the fact is he looked very noticeably weight-drained and lacking vigour, his usual vigour, and Eubank did not despite Calzaghe setting a ridiculous pace from start to finish but according to these people pushing the narratives I'm referring to Calzaghe fought a weight-drained shell of Eubank and Roy scored his greatest ever win over a 100% Toney

And surely being fair would also be acknowledging things from Calzaghe's side too and the issues he had with the weight, as in coming in considerably lighter than he usually did due to among other things the nervous energy he burnt up before the fight? He'd never been taken into the trenches or been in a gruelling fight before as a pro or fought at world level or been past 8 rounds before with most of his 21 KOs in 22 fights coming early. He said he was exhausted in that fight and it's plain to see he fought like a man possessed that night and sheer will and determination powered him through it when fatigue set in

No we're not but what I'm trying to get you to concede regarding what we do disagree about isn't much, DP.

But let's just leave it at that because we're just going round in circles

Bellew paid his mandatory (Briedis) step aside money and a place on his undercard to fight BJ Flores then vacated the belt straight after.

    Didn’t enter the WBSS.

Never won a single belt that wasn’t vacant.

    2/10.

Serge the original debate i had was with the other post in this thread that trying to claim Calzaghe was consistently taking risks fighting outside his country.

And i'm sorry i don't agree with that narrative and that's been my whole point that there's levels to what people deem as taking risks fighting outside your country.

And travelling 100 miles down the road to Manchester or Newcastle is not my definition of that.

You think i'm accusing you of saying that but i'm not it's directed at you it's directed at the other post in this thread. And that's why i think our wires have got crossed and some of these conversations we're having are getting muddled up with other conversations with other participants.

I'll agree that maybe more neutral judges could've have been used in some of Calzaghe's fights in England.

I'll also agree to disagree that yes an English fighter having all English officials is an advantage. If you also agree that Calzaghe's fights for the most part were officiated fairly and that Calzaghe wasn't fighting against the system or bias.

    Yes that's fair i agree.

I agree with you on this that it's not the samething that's what i'm trying to say. It's just this is so confusing now because so much has been said and i've also debated with another poster about the samething things are getting muddled up for me now.

Yes ok i understand what you're saying now you're saying even though Kessler took risks by travelling that it evens out more because the officials were neutral point taken.

Again my post is more directed at the other post in this thread more so than you.

My point has always been that it wasn't a major risk again not directed at you and you agree with that so i have nothing more to add.

I'll also agree with more adventurous.

That's why i said Serge whether Eubank wasn't 100 percent or not that it made no difference to the result and Calzaghe was the better man end of.

I'm not saying Eubank looked frail and totally weak he was obviously a very capable fighter that night. But i think it's fair to say Eubank wouldn't of been 100 percent but again as i said it made no difference to the result.

No i don't think RJJ fought a 100 percent Toney but i also think if you have a full training camp and you can't get into tip top shape that's on you no excuses.

I also think that RJJ would beat any version of Toney it's simply a bad match up for him and vice a versa for Calzaghe/Eubank.

I think honestly this is the best reply out of all the ones we've had in this thread so far. I've understood your points more and agreed with alot it.

My issue is i've said so much in this thread and with another poster aswell that somethings got muddled up for me and it gave me a headache TBH lol.

So yeah i'm quite happy to leave it here i think we made good progress.

Bellew is a very poor commentator as well.
