Fury vs Joshua is OFF

I'm the last one who would trust any promoter, especially Hearn. But I don't think he would throw AJ under the bus like that, especially since AJ with his star power doesn't need Hearn like that.

 

Do you really think he'd go against his biggest clients wishes though?

This is classic Tyson Fury really; sign a contract stipulating the fight must take place in the UK, try to alter the terms to have the fight in New York, and claim AJ is useless dosser, who is ducking him, when he doesn't immediately agree to these altered terms. I hope AJ calls his bluff even if the fight falls apart; both are shot to smithereens so the fight has null sporting value anyway, and I will be interested to see what desperate attempt Fury makes to achieve sporting relevance if this fight isn't on the table.

 

It may benefit AJ more to not fight Fury, so I don't think it's Hearn throwing him under the bus perse.

Depends on what AJs wishes are I guess, and that doesn't mean that Hearn wouldn't give him advice to go in a different direction (taking easier money fights, building hype before side-stepping into title contention against an easier opponent etc).

Ultimately it's all guess work, and Hearn appears to want the best for his fighters, but that doesn't mean I'd trust his words more than any other promoter. He was open to boxing in Saudi and is only now changing his tune about it being in the UK instead?

 

I dislike AJ about as much as the next guy, and If Fury drops out because of location I'll have no issues declaring him Sir Quackalot of Dossersville but I thought it was the Saudi's/Netflix pushing for it to be in the states with Hearn kicking up a stink about it?

 

I sincerely hope they both just retire. They are firmly in the delusional phase of their careers where they think that they just need one more warm-up, when in fact, they have permanently lost what made them special, and could get themselves hurt.

Also, NO ONE is interested any more. this is two generations back. This is the three kings era, which might have still been fun to do when we were still in the subsequent Usyk era, but since Usyk abdicated, this is two eras out. This is the beginning of the Itauma-Kabaeyl-Dubois-whoever era. I mean, why not just make Lewis-Bowe instead?

 

I'd still watch it, and I think most would. Even in their sorry states it's still a good match up.

But I'm tired of this diva act where both are acting like they're still the champs. They're not. Make the fight or retire!

I would still watch any heavyweight fight with two guys with a positive record. But I have no particular interest. We have Irauta-Hrgovic, Dubois-Wardley II, Kabeyel against somebody or other, and Parker's return!

Never mind these two.

 

I'd love to see Itauma v Wardley/Dubios, would be a barn burner. Not sure who a good match up for Parker would be at this stage, maybe Hrgovic?

 

Got to see how much he has left, but as much as I like Gassiev, Parker would win every round if he was methodical.

 

I think it would be better for boxing if the fight between Fury and Joshua never happened. It's more intriguing for boxing fans to speculate about who would have won than to see them actually fight when both are completely shot.
