Are the odds for Itauma vs Hrgović too wide?

I think this may be the first time Filip has entered the ring as an underdog in general.

 

With Hrgovic coming so light I think those odds are too wide.

 

Howard Foster is reffing, so the fight will be stopped the moment Hrgovic is even slightly buzzed by a punch. You're right.

Hrgovic can easily win this. If Itauama can't get him out of there in 6, what happens in round 7?

 

Probably runs to Hrgovics corner, steals their towel and throws it in for them.

 

Eh, lets not pretend Hrgovic's gas tank is that great either.

 

I am not, but he has been 12 and still got it done. And he will be better as he has not been at this low weight in 6 years.

Just let the better man win. I don't dislike Moses, but we have no idea if he is any good at all. Yes, he has speed, power, and skills, but boxing is a funny sport. You can have all of those things and STILL be a bust. I wish him well in proving that he has the intangibles, but win, lose or draw, he should not have been put in with Hrgovic when he has not been past 6.

As for Hrgovic, let's hope he stays awake and remembers that he is in a fight. He has trouble with this.

 

Since this thread is about the odds and not about the fight then, yes, they are too wide. Itauma has not done enough or proven he can take big punches to believe he should be that big of a favorite against a known commodity like Hrgovic. That being said, Itauma will probably reward his backers but it is worth taking a bit of a flyer on the Croatian fighter at +550.

 

In a fair fight, without Howard Foster as the referee, and without Queensberry judges, the odds would be too wide.

But the odds are actually too NARROW - there's a very good chance that Foster will wave his hands after Itauma lands a few punches, even if Hrgovic is not seriously hurt. And he will be distracting Hrgovic and stopping the action every time he's a threat to Itauma.

 

I put all my money $10 on huggy to win by ko second round for a return of $810. This fight could be too soon for Moses….. or not.

 

I feel the bookies have well and truly jumped on the Moses hype express train and are terrified of the punters lumping on him. 1/8 odds for an inexperienced at anywhere near world level boxer fighting a genuine top 10 boxer is nuts. I'll be having a modest wager on Hrgovic at odds of 5/1. It seems a few punters might be doing the same as 6/1 was available yesterday bet365, willhills and skybet have all shortened up.

 

I did get Itauma’s point when he said Hrgovic doesn’t give him any credit and says everyone he’s beat was washed up or mediocre whilst Hrgovic doesn’t really have an amazing resume and has had excuses whenever he’s performed poorly, so why doesn’t he let him have the reason for learning his trade along the way. I probably see it 60-40 in Itauma’s favour but he can’t help the Queensbury hype machine.

 

"Standard of Wins" is a bit of a weird one to discredit 21 year old Itauma for, when 34 year old Hrgovic's best victory, is a decision over Zhilei Zhang, which many thought Zhang won.

The fact Itauma is taking this fight at 21, is one of the reasons he's a heavy favourite.
