Practically zero divisional champs are fighting each other if theyre fighting at all. Legitimately, I think this is the slowest phase boxing has been in my 20 years following the sport.

    HW titles held up
    LHW titles held up
    SMW is barren
    MW is barren
JMW loaded with nobody fighting each other
    WW barren
JWW top heavy with nothing planned
LW loaded with nobody fighting each other
    LW deep
FW Deep with nobody fighting each other and Inoue joining soon
JFW Nobody besides Inoue taking the tough fights

Genuinely pathetic times. We need Dana and Turki now more than ever.

I agree. Weakest reign of champions I've ever seen. No big fights. It's at an all time low.

I mean, overall you are right, but it is an odd thing to post on the eve of a right-hot heavyweight title fight that everyone is talking about and getting hotter by the minute.

It's a vacant title. As usual.

It's an interesting fight and I am looking forward to it but it is between two men who have done nothing to earn a title bout.

This. Itauma is the most over hyped fighter in the world of boxing. He may very well win the title and do it in style. But he has to prove it long term and live up to the hype. Otherwise that's all it is.

That is the key. The hype may end up being correct but he is currently unproven and I wish the hype was more in line with the proof rather than with the potential.

Not really the point. The point is that you are intersted. Everyone is interested!

Well, it is an interesting fight, but it’s not a big fight. It’s not an enticing matchup. It’s for a heavyweight title, which makes the fact that it’s not enticing matchup even worse. There are lots of interesting fights out there just very few fights to look forward to rather than just be interested in.

Yeah, I think it's just about ****ed. I don't see it ever capturing peoples imaginations the way it used to.

While I agree both Itauma and Hrgovic’s resumes are thin, which non-champion deserves a title shot more than them right now?

I genuinely can’t think of one I’d convincingly make a case for.

It's been this way for at least a few years.

No boxing does not need Dana and Turki. Boxing is in a better place than the UFC and they sure are in a better place than that slapping nonsense.
