    Source is apparently Benvidez's dad.

    My thoughts in this:

    1) I would most like to see Usyk retire.
    2) If he has a last fight, I would rather it be Wilder.
    3) 1 and 2 notwithstanding, I don't have a problem with it. A lot of great heavyweight champs have on their records as one of their best wins someone coming up directly: Louis-Conn, Johnson-Ketchell, Schmeling-Walker.
    4) Usyk has the benefit of saying that he himself came up from a lower weight.

    and, finally...

    5) Those who had told me that it is not embarrassing for Homes to lost to Spinks would have no business complaining about this. Usyk is almost five years older than Holmes was, has surrendered his belts, and again, came up from a lower weight himself. This fight makes FAR more sense if it happens.

Lol at Usyk planning to fight in ****ing May. If he got old overnight vs Rico 10 months after Dubois, then what would happen if he fights 12 months after that at 40 ?

Idk who's behind the decision making process behind Usyk's career at this point in time, but he should castrated.

You are not wrong, but as he is not longer a titlist, he can do as he pleases.

A lot of big venues are not available late year due to other sports, so I don't think we are going to see him back until next year, if at all.

This is a mistake Usyk is too old and he's never faced anyone as fast as Benavidez let alone a pressure fighter as skilled as him. The size difference is overblown and Benavidez is in his prime. If Usyk loses it's seen as a cherrypick gone wrong from outsiders. What happened to the wilder fight

The last time Wilder's camp spoke about it a month or two ago, they said they had yet to be contacted. Maybe the money wasn't right? I don't know.

    2) If he has a last fight, I would rather it be Wilder.

    Why?

Wilder spent his whole WBC reign hiding in the US, if there's one guy who doesn't deserve a final pay day it's him.

A bad matchup for 40 year old Usyk

It is a good swan song fight. Usyk is not competing at this point. Wilder is a heavy, and technically, has ten title defenses.
