Imagine running into Hrgovic in a bar fight or something.

 

He boxed beautifully and will still be a problem for any heavyweight. But now it depends how he takes this loss, that's the true test for him now.

 

People are wanting to say it's just Hrgovic's chin. But we've seen guys with chins like that get bullied around plenty of times. Itauma just wasn't strong enough, nor accurate enough.

Rewatch the fight and you can see even in the first half of the fight how many times Itauma threw big shots that missed completely or he'd land behind the neck.

Itauma is young, and he has a good amount of flaws. It's always exciting to see the guy with fast hands KO guys, but a lot of fighters do that when they're starting out. His power isn't there for the guys who aren't just there to be KOed. Hrgovic was VERY slow, but Itauma just wasn't experienced enough to exploit it.

Surely you gotta give him credit though. He did bloody well and left it in the ring

 

Itauma just didn’t seem able to accept that he wouldn’t be able to knock Hrgovic out. Needs to just box and not think of stoppages, could be a real mental challenge to get over this if he’s not mature enough

 

In hindsight, he knew he didn't have anything in the tank, so he had to end matters asap.
