I agree. As someone who favored him but not nearly to the extent that the 8-1 odds suggested, everyone is writing him off WAY to quick imo. Same people would've said Louis was exposed by Schmeling, and had no future in the sport.

 

I've only ever seen that dramatic a collapse before in marathon running.

 

It was jinxed the second they compared Itauma to Tyson.

All the excuses under the sun, why can’t people accept defeat gracefully. He looked phenomenal for a couple of rounds but he showed signs of gassing much sooner than they’re letting on. He still looked really good though, but Hrgovic did exactly what a lot of people thought he would do….take Moses best shots, refuse to lie down and come on strong when the chance presents itself. He hurt Itauma a few times prior to the stoppage.

 

He was born with an iron chin. Good for him. His pressuring was nothing special. About the minimum to expect from a fighter with 2 hands.

 

That's a really poor argument considering every HW in history has lost.

Fight reminded me a little of David Haye Vs Carl Thompson in terms of how it panned out.

 

I agree but like you said he was experienced, put all his energy into trying to get a stoppage, even when it was fairly obvious it wasn't happening, should've paced himself to get the decision or maybe even the KO down the line.

 

Make no mistake Moses Itauma is a big bad man just inexperienced, I hope he is able to come back mentally from this the heavyweight scene needs fighters like this his talent, speed, skills and yes even his chin is good for boxing. Hrgovic comes from the Chuvalo mould both Croations and both iron chins, Hrgovic has a solid amateur pedigree and is big and skilled and most importantly tough

 

Both Richard Torrez Jr. and Itauma need to come back. Don't go full Anderson.

 

Don't be silly if he has the right mentality he can 100% come back and the defeat could well do more for him than a win his 21 most heavys don't turn pro that young let alone have a title fight.

That the problem with modern boxing too many fools right off fighters after a L like they can not learn from it

 

Skills, speed, power, chin, he showed he has it all.

All he lacks is experience.
