People pick Joe over super heavies but not Marciano

    Yeah but being 20 lbs heavier than a 185 lber is irrelevant when talking about fighting a 6'6 250 pound accurate power puncher. Unless you have an iron chin, an elusive style or preferably a combination of both. Frazier would be there to be hit like Marciano would, unless you think Frazier will make AJ miss every punch he throws while landing all of his own.

    Yeah but neither fare well against modern super heavies. There is no 67 inch reach heavyweight swarmer. Just like there's no 205 pound slow starting swarmer that depends mainly on a left hook. Where's that fighter at?


    Yet only 1 of these is spoken of like he'd dominate the heavyweight division from the 90s until today.

    Face it, if Frazier or Marciano were around today, they and many of the guys they beat, would not be heavyweights. They would be light heavyweights and cruiserweights. I'm just holding consistent logic.

    Your not holding consistent logic it's very flawed logic actually.

    Saying 20 pound weight advantage, 6 inch reach advantage.

    Whilst being faster, harder hit, better work, less prone to cuts.

    Is not a significant advantange is just false and you know it.

    No one is saying Frazier would beat loads of elite Super Heavyweights but he would fare better than Marciano.

    Fighters like Briedis and Gassiev who have had success at Heavyweight are far closer to Frazier's dimensions and size rather than Marciano.

    Frazier did not have better defense by every metric. He ate a lot of shots. Was down more in his career.

    Marciano never lost a fight over cuts. This argument is brought up routinely and it’s a non factor.

    Marciano knocked out every man he met over 200 pounds. At what point is it a non factor (serious question)? 10 fights?15?20? 11-0 11KOs even if only a handful were good fighters it means nothing as most men only meet a handful of “good” fighters anyway.

    I’ve noticed this, and I believe it’s due to the fact Louis could fight much better going backwards than Marciano, which is crucial as a smaller man against bigger men who can throw devastating combinations.
