chico didn't get stretchered out the way itauma did after getting overhyped the way itauma did
chic was surgically taken apart by mayweather
no matter what, the loss to hrgovic is always going to be in the back of his mind

 

No way does this kill his career. Baffles me that reaction. He is 21, dominated a fight and lost due gassing out due to lack of experience. If he addresses his conditioning and changes trainer then there is no reason he wont come again and come correct.

I'm actually very pleasantly surprised that Frank Warren hadn't got a clause in.

 

Serious dose of copium needed. Itauma can come up the rankings the normal way. Crawl before you can walk

 

I think a rematch clause couldn't be enforced upon Hrgovic by Queensbury because the winner was mandated to face Sanchez who sat out. I understand the business of protecting your asset but I detest rematch clauses if someone gets beat fair and square with no argument for a second go but that's the game.

i 'm sure they thought that itauma was a sure thing to beat hrgovic
i read somewhere before the fight that warren didn't even rate hrgovic

 

Filip hit the nail on the head in the post fight, Moses is an immense talent, however fights like he’s still in 3/4 round amateur bouts. That’s been enough to blow away the competition up till now, as a pro, you need to know when to take a break, when to take a round off, when to turn up the pace, Itauma has always been full throttle, everything I hit falls down mentality.

Theres most definitely adjustments Itauma could make, I just don’t know how bad the scarring of this fight will be.

Had me thinking, he was starting to blow heavy against Franklin, imagine if that little pudding could have hung on in there….

 

Yes he was in fact he was top 10 p4p ranked as well a champ and full of confidence. He suffered a demoralizing loss and bounced back to do great things.

 

Itauma is the one who insisted on the fight in the first place, I don't think Warren wanted it that much, and he will definitely try talking Itauma out of an immediate rematch. It's the last thing Itauma needs right now. But then again, last thing Wardley needs is an immediate rematch with Dubois, and we're getting that.

 

For me this was the worst possible outcome ,Itauma was exposed and the division is left with nothing. How can you possibly have a fight of this magnitude and start sucking air after 5 rounds? Hrgovic was nothing either he just had a good chin and better stamina but it wasn't like this was a fast paced fight...What is the take away of this fight? Mr. Joe Frazier said it best:
"If you don't do your roadwork in the dark of the morning, you'll be found out under the bright lights"

i just don't like the way itauma was overhyped, and then the way he ended up after the hrgovic fight..
a puncher like itauma, with the hype he was getting, then getting stretchered out, i've got serious doubts about him coming back and going on to bigger and better things..
i may be wrong, but hey, one of the best stories in boxing is redemption..

no man, the guy hasn't even done 12 round spars. let him take a step back and get some experience.

 

Wlad was very dedicated to the sport and his training combined with his determination to improve, when he lost to Puritty he was back in the ring within something like 6 weeks.

Itauma has never even sparred 12 rounds, openly said he doesn’t like the sport, openly talks about preferring the money to the legacy, I’m pretty certain his hunger is nowhere near Wlads who was still searching for Financial security, Moses isn’t in that same position.

There’s so many things to consider in the direction of his career now. He’s at the top of the sport, just fought for a world title, very unlikely he drops back down to fight cans, he’s now a main event fighter. I’d be suprised if we see him back before The end of the year maybe even March.

The choice of opponent next time out is crucial in my opinion.
