Glad to see him finally get a strap! And the legend Wladimir’s title he defended 18 straight times too. I actually think Filip has a great shot at Unifying IF Usyk stays retired :D Which I think he will, nothing left to prove.

    Congrats El Animal :clapclap::beer-toast1:

    He would beat Gassiev comfortably.

Kabayel - I think the body shots would probably get to him.

    Dubois - 50/50.

He already beat Dubois in my eyes so I don’t see why he can’t do it again.

I think anyone in the top 20 beats Gassiev.

The tough one is Kabayel. Real 50/50 fight. I’d slightly favour Hrgovic to weather the storm and score a late KO in that one too.

He probably wont get the chance to unify because he is Croatian. Probably ends up taking a rematch because ...well...Moses is British so the wrong guy won and Warren has to fix that.

If he gets the shots, yes. He is a little bit the best guy, though not by much. He arguably should have beat Dubois by TD, Kabayel just wants to where his silk pajamas, eat kababs and fight Rico, and Gassiev...not even going to try to defend him. He would be a bit the favorite in any match-up where he does not forget where he is and wander around the ring aimlessly.

Yes because I'd expect him to beat Kabayel and Gassiev. And I'd make him slight favourite in a Dubois rematch.

Yeah Filip is definitely tough as nails but taking that kind of punishment for so long, it will eventually break you down and the chin won’t hold up forever. Look at Wach nowadays. Definitely not the same tank of a fighter he was against Wlad. Wach’s chin used to be Tex Cobb grade.

I would hate to see Filip eventually KOed by some guy who wouldn’t come close to doing it right now.

Hrgovic should have been the Olympic gold medalist in 2016. British media always says Joe Joyce should have been but Hrgovic did a bigger number on Yoka in the semi than Joyce did in the final only to get robbed blind. Ten years on from an Olympics is often a pro fighter's zenith. So it was with Filip Hrgovic. I think he's better than the other alphabet champs. Biggest threat to him will be the British promoters who will want him to take fights that serve their interests rather than his own.

i agree, but as much as hrgovic has a great chin, one thing he doesn't get enough credit for is rolling with the punches..
when you look at itauma's punch output, hrgovic should've looked all shredded and busted up..
i seen a clip on facebook where he walked into his dressing room after the fight and was interviewed by a croatian journalist telling him that his head was still ringing after the fight..
i hope he makes a couple more huge paydays, then out!!!...off into the sunset
    which i think he'll do

Agreed. I think the UK media also used that WSB win Joyce has over Hrgovic to prop him up more and make it seem like he was the better up and comer. But anyone who knows the sport could see Filip had the better overall offensive tools with every bit as good a chin as Joyce. I always thought Filip had the slightly better whiskers. And that’s saying ALOT when comparing chins with Joyce. :D lol

It’s been a tough long road for Filip man. I hope he unifies and maybe defends once or twice, then call it a day! He’s been through absolutely wars. I actually think his most dangerous opponent will be Gassiev. People sleep on Murat’s power I feel. As far as sheer impact, he hits harder than itauma. Goes to the body really good too. Dangerous fight.

Filip takes out dubois in 4 this time. His confidence will be through the roof. And I think that mouth breather dubois will be overconfident
