It's fair to say Katie Taylor's career has not been typical of all women's boxing.

I think the previous post was more about norms - men don't generally move up and down 5+ weight classes (stand-out men sometimes do). In women's boxing with the field of competition available, it has to be a regular thing or they'd be fighting each other far more often.

Taylor is the exception but the likes of Harper and Jonas got beat at 130 then jumped up to 154 and got an immediate title shot. Imagine someone like Anto Cacace deciding he wanted to jump 4 weight divisions.

 

I was behind her in the beer queue at Lomachenko v Campbell and she seemed alright tbf but that was 7 years ago.

 

A draw was the right result,Ebonie the aggressor but Shannon with the more accurate work

 

Okay but her petulant reaction to the decision was very brat like (as is always the case when she doesn't win)

 

Have to admit I don't follow the women's game that closely so I was genuinely shocked when Mayer vs Cameron was announced as a 154lbs unification.

I thought they were both lightweights

 

So Jonas, Harper, Mayer, Cameron have all jumped from light to light middle and won titles

Is 154 a particularly week division?

 

Strikes me as a Dark Fruit gal

 

Mayer, Jonas and Harper were all super featherweight a few years ago.
