Calling Moses a quitter is way over the top. He was firing punches while he couldnt even stand up straight anymore. He didn't have a second of giving up in him.

 

Division feels empty to me without seeing Fury, AJ Wilder and Usyk in the top 10. Ive gotten so used to having them (well the big 3 at least) in there.
also seems a bit weird not seeing parkers name in there.

really is a brand new era.

i hope the proper fights get made to do the division justice.

 

Your entire position here is basically that because certain fighters can fight at a higher pace then what Moses fought at, then he shouldn't have gotten that gassed out.
You really dont see how flawed that position is?

Supreme condition, near prime, seasoned veteran Wladimir gassed out magnitudes worse then Moses did and was literally crawling on all fours against brewster, and he was throwing less punches and at a lesser pace then fat Arreola. So he quit?

It shows a fundamental lack of understanding on how stamina works and how varied it can be for one fighter in different fights of his (based on experience and training), let alone between two completely different fighters with two different attributes and styles, especially when that fighter has *zero* experience going past 6 rounds and its now the 9th.

Youre comparing seasoned veterans to a guy who had fought barely more then a dozen full rounds in his career and never went past the 6th before.

The objective reality is there on video, Moses was fighting and engaging until the last seconds. He showed *zero* signs of submission, or desire of quitting, or wanting out of the fight. He never stopped throwing, never looked to the corner, never entered full retreat mode, never just covered up trying to invite a ref stoppage, eect. He was answering back and doing nothing a fighter that is or wants to quit does. He just had zero left in his tank or his legs.

its no wonder why zero professional fighters or coaches, people who are intimately aware of the realities of gassing, share this view. Not even his rivals and sharpest critics are saying this.

To say what he did was quitting is distorting the word and making up your own definition of quitting. He gassed out and I think its quite obvious to anyone whose been gassed out in a fight before.


But we will see what happens in the future. If he goes on to *actually* quit in a fight at some point Ill come back and say maybe you were right lol.

Ill be honest, Moses does seem to me... just personality wise and in his eyes... that he might have some quit in him, so I wont be overly shocked if he ever does it, but he didn't do it in this fight.

 

I think you're being extremely harsh here, and I don't agree with the spirit of what you're saying. But at the same time, I remember thinking the same exact thing when you made an eerily similar post about Golota some 28 years ago. I suppose we will find out in due time, but I believe Itauma can bounce back, not unlike Wlad did from his earlier losses when he had trouble pacing himself. Under the guidance of Emanuel, Wlad eventually addressed that shortcoming. Whether Itauma can actually do the same remains to be seen.
