Fighters who were considered past their prime before the age of 30

    Every prime is different depending on their style, wear and tear, dedication, and out of the ring habits. Most of the time boxer who are well over in their 30s are now either in their peak or perhaps slowing down. In some cases they would already be "washed up" before they turn 30.

    Any examples of a fighter who was already no longer at their best and got "old" over time while they were still in their 20s? Meldrick Taylor is the first to come to mind.

    Ridiculous Bowe... though he was never as good as the bill of goods the public was sold on him.

    Mike Tyson is the best example. He was much better in his early 20s than in his late 20s.

    Some people said Chris Eubank was "shot" when he lost twice to Collins at age 27, but the truth is he was never really good and was terribly overrated by some British boxing fans.

    Mike Tyson is a good example. Fired his trainer Kevin Rooney in December 1988. The constant head movement, precise body work, high-volume combination punching and disciplined conditioning that Rooney instilled in him faded as a result. By the time he was 30, Tyson was well into his decline into a one-dimensional headhunter.

    Duran's prime was on the downslide by the time he rematched Leonard. 74 fights in and he was hot and cold after that fight.

    Jeff Fenech and Jung Koo Chang ended up becoming well past it before 30, especially considering how physically demanding their fast paced swarming style required.
