I think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself there. He's 21 with plenty of time to bounce back after giving a top 10 heavyweight an extremely competitive fight. It's not like he got beaten up by someone we've never heard of.

 

Exactly. Itauma was beating Hrgovic pretty much the whole fight before running out of gas later. If this fight went the way of Hrgovic giving the youngster a beat down from beginning to end, that's different. But it's not what happened.

The first 8 rounds mean Jack ****. He got the **** punched out of him in round 9 and was staggering allover the place. He was folded over in the corner unable to stand. Stretchered out of the ring and arena.

The age breakdown of the division means the only way he falls off the wagon is they are stupid enough to give him a serious opponent again soon and he loses. If Moses treads pond water like everyone else has spent the last decade doing he will stick around. If he fights a few more guys like Whyte and challenges in 2030 he'll be fine.

Itauma won't be the next Muhammad Ali or live up to his expectations but he can have a nice Joseph Parker kind of career.
