So sorry to hear of Jimmy's death today. May he forever rest in peace. I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy a few years back and he was a lovely down to earth bloke.

So sad, what a nice bloke he was, and a consummate pro, I went to many of his fights, Prince Rodney, Larry Paul, Jimmy Cable, Pat Thomas, Albert Hillman, and the never to be forgotten gruelling encounter with the dour, tough, body punching Tony Poole, what a tough fight for Batten, he came through hell and high water, he withstood tremendous punishment to finally stop the lionhearted Poole in the 13th, I was seated near his corner, and Duff was pleading with him not to stand and trade with Poole, he didn't listen, or wouldnt, he went toe to toe with the hard as nails Poole and won, great fight, I also met him several times at boxing functions, and found him polite and self deprecating, a salute to a very nice man and a very good boxer.
