Time to accept it, the body shots, the counters, the jab. On a rewatch you can see him taking Itauma apart round after round and Itauma mostly missing. It was a clinic by Hrgovic.
and also, a tactical clinic.. but you could'nt say that to itauma fanboys before the fight.. they were making comparisons with the outcome of the demsey mckean fight.. i' ve said this in other threads... the boxing world has gone into meltdown since the fight
and since the fight, hrgovic has gotten minimal credit for his achievement.. it's all.... where did it go wrong for itauma
You can't get used as a punching bag for 8 rounds and put on a clinic. Underrated tactical performance yes, clinic absolutely no.
Dropped in the 2nd, and outlanded in every round apart from the 9th, took some horrifyingly clean punches directly on his chin. Mayweather-esque.
The Mayweather blueprint, thankfully, is not the only way to win. Hrgo is very good at rolling with punches, partially deflecting them, anticipating them... basically, the instincts and reflexes a good student gains after decades in the sport. In the end, he out-physicalled, out-manned, and out-souled his competitor. That is skill on the highest level.
