Sorry to report guys yet another of our brave fighters has passed away.Jimmy unfortunately suffered from parkinsons disease and he has been taken from us aged only 70.Probably best known for going the distance with the great Roberto Duran, Jimmy was a favourite of mine.Condolences to all his family and friends

Good local fighter was Jimmy, but another who suffered in the ring. He mentions in his book he suffered damage to the brain after the Tony Poole fight, and yet carried on for another few years. He puts it plainly: "I knew I had brain damage but felt good and knew I had more fights in me, I phoned him back and said yes. So, despite the good advice, I was going to Florida to fight Duran on a later date. I was on the undercard of Aaron Pryor v Alexis Arguello." His book's available on Kindle Unlimited if anyone's interested.
RIP Champ Very brave and entertaining fighter. Great run as British champion in good fight with Albert Hillman+Tony Poole. Lost an Ebu title fight in a big shock, I think he had crammed in too many fights (9 fights over less than 2 years including 3 British title fights including 2 them pretty gruelling). Good performance going the distance with Duran. Duran koed Pipino Cuevas and Davey Moore in his next 2 fights and then pushed Hagler close over 15!
