This guy has been overrated for YEARS because he exposed AJ which made a bunch of people giddy.

Even as recently as THIS WEEK I seen casuals on Facebook saying the champions were all "ducking" Ruiz, this despite the fact he hasn't won a fight in years.

Nothing against Ruiz as a person, but he got so overrated, he's always been a slow footed guy with no reach who NEEDS you to exchange with him.

All these guys from the post Klitschko era are done, it's the post Usyk era now, time for a new cast.

Is anyone really rating Ruiz? Like honestly I’ve seen more people make fun of his weight than call him a legitimate contender.

If you go to the Classic forum, you'll see some people rating him above Frazier.. as a way to pump up Joshua et al.

Unfortunately, the myth hasn't been put to bed. There always will be someone coming to a thread and saying something like "he just didn't take his career seriously - if he got himself in shape and fought regularly, he would have been a legendary fighter". In fact, I believe someone posted something similar in the RBR thread after this fight.

He is inactive and undisciplined, and age has also caught up with him.

He lost his Snickers sponsorship and his life has been a bit of a mess since.

Ruiz is incredibly overrated. Outside of Joshua, his best win is a decrepit Luis Ortiz who won every round that he wasn't dropped in. That was a bad decision.

He was even dropped by a retired and decrepit Arreola. Ruiz only has one name on his record and that's Joshua.

He ****ed himself with snickers bars, then let PBC **** him with snickers bars. He could have had a much greater career except for Haymon and co.

Andy was always just a fat plodder. He had decent hand speed and power. He lacked the discipline to ever dare to be great. He's in the same camp as Chris Arreola, only Andy managed to be lucky enough to win a belt. When HIStory looks back at heavyweight title holders named Ruiz, Johnny "The Quiet Man" Ruiz will be the gold standard.

I got more frustrated with his annoying fans. Ruiz would come out of the wood work and demand some big fight and say he was ducked but would never put in the work of facing contenders and gate keepers to get back in the mix. He stood with his hand out for years hoping to jump the line of actual contenders and prospects putting the work in

His Joshua II weight and performance for me were incredibly disqualifying and he needed to get back out there and show he was serious. Annoying Ruiz and PBC fans would jump to his defense and say he deserved big fights and was a champ and that he was being ducked etc....he kept pricing himself out and refusing to put in the work

I am glad Knyba beat him and shut up everyone overrating him. Also it was disappointing to see a decent contender completely belittled in the lead up. I doubt any of these idiots watched his solid performance against Kabayel

He's obviously done. Now it's not the time to say "see! I told you". He's clearly seen better days. He was never going to last with his lack of discipline.
