The management is most at fault here. Clearly Ruiz should have beaten up a couple of bums as a tuneup, but instead they threw him into a money fight. Yes, this was a money fight for Ruiz, I doubt he got paid peanuts here.

But I am amazed that Ruiz survived the knockdown. He was doing the chicken dance while getting pummeled on the chin. How he was not out cold is beyond me.

Every fight is a money fight for Ruiz or he simply doesn't fight

My thoughts are they thought let's see if he is worth the investment

I doubt Hearn is crying too much right now

Even prime Ruiz would struggle against Knyba. Shocking matchmaking really.

Short guy on the wrong side of 35 with slow feet and T-Rex arms + coming off a 2 year lay off vs young tall guy with insane reach + good jab and movement.

114-113 is disgusting (twice, at that). But, beyond the scorecards, we already knew that Ruiz at top of the division (which is not Knyba) is finished, he's shown us over the last seven years, from the rematch with Joshua onwards. Obviously good old Andy is part of history and will not be forgotten, just as we will not forget Douglas and Hrgovic.

I didn't watch the fight but for me Ruiz has been overhyped based on his 15 minutes of fame for the Joshua win.

Forgetting Ruiz's immense struggles after the Joshua fights.

Look at Ruiz struggling before that vs a shot Liakhovich who had been stopped in 3 of his last 4 fights.

Ruiz couldn't even put a dent in him or stop him and went the distance in a surprisingly competitive fight.

Yes Ruiz has quick hands but he's too basic and has concrete feet.

Ruiz can easily be outboxed by someone with a bit of mobility or a decent jab.

It says more to me that Joshua has poor recuperative powers that he couldn't recover after 1 bad round vs Ruiz.

I didn't watch the fight so I woke up to this pleasant result.

Ruiz is definitely done at the top level. He got a gift against Miller and watching the highlights of this fight, he got a gift from the referee.

Ref should have stopped it after interfering with Knyba's punches. Instead, he changed his mind and gave Ruiz a super long count and time to recover.

    I was standing up yelling
STOP THE FIGHT HES GOING TO DIE

That was brutal to watch and yes the ref was waving it OFF until interrupted by a tidal wave of flesh headed his way

My damn DVR cut off this morning the start of Round 11

Let's face it: Judges Glenn Feldman and Kevin Morgan would've called Larry Holmes vs. Tex Cobb a draw.

They should be taken to task to explain their decision before they're granted their next judging gig.

To be fair Larry only won the first fifteen rounds of their fight.
