Dave Allen vs Thomas Carty set for Sept. 5 in Dublin

Can’t say I know much about Carty. I’d say the big question here if hes any better than Fisher.

Allen is obviously limited and a journeyman at best, but at the same time very experienced and that clearly got him past a ‘prospect’ in Fisher.

History could repeat itself here.

 

Gotta think if he wins here he will chase a British title in his last fight

 

I see its a 10 rounder, which should favour Allen. Carty has only ever been 8 rounds once.

Allen won't be fighting at a high tempo or anything here, but you have to favour Allen over 10 rounds to get the decision.

Carty is his usual weight here and is a better boxer than Fisher, but you give Allen the edge with experience.

 

Dave Allen already wins --- for most likeable HW, IMHO. It's a tight match between him and Chisora. Who doesn't luv those guys? I hope they get plentiful post-retirement commentating and podcasting gigs.

 

Should have done so years ago, but he and his team kept insisting on world level aspirations.

But if Richard Riakporhe is still the BBBofC champ then I don´t see Allen taking that title.

Comical.

 

Was a bit of a rabbit punch but the guy kind of turned into it and it looked like he tried to make the most out of it and throw himself against the ropes and was surprised to find they offered no resistance and greeted the floor with his face. Both of these guys were in unacceptable shape aesthetically. I'm sure they can go 12 just fine but even for Allen he looked very heavy with a notable gut, doesn't look like he's going to take the end of his career as seriously as he keeps promising. If he is presented with this kind of stage and turns up like that what else is he going to be motivated to go the extra mile for? Would be nice if he goes for the British, should have gone for it long before now.

Yeah nah that was awesome of the BBBOC to allow Allen to fight whilst pregnant.

 

No idea why Tom Carty dived out the ring there and refused to come back in. One rabbit punch to the back of the head and he decided he wanted to go home.
