Looks like Carty had a mental breakdown in there.

You can see he turns his head into the punch, gets hit in the back of the head, and then chucks himself through the ropes. Then when he is on the floor, you see him side eyeing his surroundings and deliberately not getting up even though you can see his eyes are completely clear.

No one is putting Carty in a big fight ever again after that. What a disgrace.

What positive things would you like me to say about him then? His conditioning, his lack of excuses, his all-action fight style that isn’t throwing 3 punches a round?

The shape he was in last night was absolutely pathetic for a professional athlete.

My issue with that fight is how high it was on the card, given something like 10-11 fights scheduled. I mean fair enough to relegate nonentities like McCann to the empty stadium but Allen's fight was barely Boxxer undercard level and it's chief support in front of 80,000?

Last night continues to make me think big-show undercards are an anachronism, as long as the shows are "owned" by the headliner in Matchroom's preferred model. Might as well have put bands on for 2-3 hours and the fight at the end. Get back to small halls and promoters reinvesting their profits in the future.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if we don't see him in a ring ever again. A mental breakdown would certainly make sense.
