Peak Anthony Joshua Versus Peak Joe Frazier

Discussions involving Anthony Joshua are always cringe. He's one of the most disrespected champions of all time, so much so that people can't help give him zero benefit of the doubt and act he loses literally every single fantasy matchup. People think he loses to Floyd Patterson for **** sake.

So it's no surprise people are acting like it's easier for the 205lbs attrition puncher in Joe Frazier to knock out Anthony Joshua than vice versa. The biggest punch in AJ's entire arsenal is the punch that Joe is most susceptible to, the uppercut. Anytime Joe wants to work his body on the inside he gets rocked and dropped. AJ's inability to fight on the inside actually makes this more likely funnily enough, as he doesn't have the capacity to overthink his options.

Furthermore peak AJ took massive shots from a man in the conversation for being the hardest puncher in boxing history in (old admittedly) Wladmir Klitschko. Joe Frazier's left hook isn't doing **** in comparison. Andy Ruiz is also not comparable to Joe Frazier at all. Andy Ruiz has a much better chin than Frazier and he punches harder. The notion that Frazier is going to drop AJ in the early rounds is nonsense, the opposite is more likely.

You don't take your resume into a fight and as much as the weirdos in this forum hate to acknowledge, being 6'6 and 250lbs helps equalise the skill gap against a 5'11 205lbs man. Especially against one who spectacularly failed both the defence check and the chin check against the only great power puncher he faced.

 

Putting Andy Ruiz above Joe Frazier is the weirdo.

 

People rating a guy that can't even get in shape for a heavyweight championship fight, that's Ruiz, above Frazier.

 

Let's make Foreman bigger, more accurate and hit harder.

Lol, as funny as this is not sure if this is realistic either. AJ never learned how to use his physical strength unlike Foreman. AJ's self esteem and self image seemed contingent on him being (his approximation of) a high IQ boxer, even when it was unwise to do so. Also don't think he hits as hard as Foreman.

Still hits plenty hard enough to wreck Frazier though, as do most of the super heavies he gets matched up with.

 

The uppercut is a dangerous punch to throw against Frazier asked Ali. Especially for a guy that doesn't fight good in Joshua. Unless we're gonna pretend he hits like Foreman.

 

I heard that Foreman once held up a collapsing bridge with his bare hands, while a schoolbus full of special needs children scooted under it.

You must be getting Foreman confused with Itauma. Moses Itauma is the real superman.
