Gassiev lost to Wallin for crying out loud.

He also won his belt off a 45 year old.

I'm not sold on this prediction.

    and where is Wallin now?

Gassiev probably smokes him in a rematch,

Yes exactly where is Wallin now ? which doesn't make Gassiev's loss to him look any better with hindsight does it ?

Gassiev beat a 45 year old for a title that doesn't exactly send shockwaves through the division.

If Gassiev beats a relevant top 10 Heavyweight now then I'll get excited about his potential.

Until that to me he's a former Cruiserweight who lost to Wallin and found himself in a great opportunity to pick up a belt off a 45 year old.

That doesn't mean he's some H2H monster at Heavyweight until he proves it.

I believe he may have a better chance than given credit for but ultimately, until he shows us he's really improved enough to be at that level, it's all speculation

Hrgovic is a sucker for that left hook, and is the only stylistically good matchup for Gassiev: out of the current title holders.
And Hrgovic would still be a massive favorite, rightfully so, but still a somewhat intriguing fight.

Hrgovic can control distance better than Wallin and has a higher workrate/better chin. Gassiev gets clowned

A longshot for sure but he's fighting in the worst era in heavyweight history so there's a chance

You should be institutionalized to a psych ward for making such a statement!

Gassiev was getting completely outboxed by an ancient Pulev prior to landing the ko.

While Gassive has very good power he is pretty slow and basic.

I disagree. It is a little more that speculation, because he was a unified cruiserweight champion that had some debilitating injuries. His past struggles may have been the injuries, it may have been a fall-off of quality at heavy, or it may have been some degree of both.

So it is not speculation, it is an educated guess.
