Suppose Ali had a strong 15th round in the FOTC

Because this fight has been up for discussion I’ve been watching some grabs of the FOTC here and there.

During part of one particular later round, Ali was doing his deliberate tippy tap punching while Joe himself wasn’t exactly grunting with his return fire.

I think it was Harry Carpenter who then commented that it was “ridiculous” and that the ref should get in there and tell them to fight.

Gee Harry, the two men had been beating the bejesus out of each other during the many preceding rounds and you begrudge them a brief respite?

It’s not like they were inhuman rock’em sock’em robots purely there for your arm chair pundit’s entertainment.

Ultimately, all in all, it turned out to be considered the greatest HW Title fight after all.
