Most fighters could do with and see greater advantage from a better set of whiskers.

Even Ali might not have visited the canvas in round 15 of the FOTC (or skeetered as he did in round 11) had he possessed, say, the chin of a Chuvalo, Cobb or McCall.

It also depends on how you rate a fighter’s beard in the first place. Lewis’ chin may be underrated due to the fact that he was flatlined by single punches on two separate occasions.

Personally, I think they were pretty damn hard shots anyway, Lewis’ biggest problem being that he allowed himself to be caught by those punches in the first place.

True but if Leonard never managed to rock Tommy in the 6th, he would have never had the confidence or the opportunity to wear him down with body shots and combinations as Tommy would still be the one keeping Leonard on the backfoot.

Same can be said at the end of the 13th when Leonard landed that massive overhand that send Tommy crashing to the ropes. He could have easily cruised to a decision had he kept his balance and boxed the remaining rounds.

Not going to argue on Haggler though as I agree that Marvin would have beat this version of Tommy in a long grueling brawl. Something similar to Arguello v Pryor.

No better example than Wilfred Benitez in the "more dedication" department!
