Hrgovic is a more talented fighter than Itauma

Ross Puritty had no amateur career and was learning on the job. But after the Kirk Johnson fight he was never dropped or stopped over 13 years to his retirement at age 40, and he fought a litany of names. Franklin has fought 5 names, going 2-3, and the Forrest "win" is regarded as a gift, with many arguing the same of the Dychko decision.

Puritty got results against future ATG Wlad and contender/WBO champ Morrison, who are better than a faded 3 KO loss Whyte and fringe contender Dychko. In his prime, Puritty had a record of 19-5-1, with all losses to name HW's, usually on very short notice. He was more than a survival first boxer-spoiler like Franklin.

I am not saying Puritty was anything more than a tough, high level journeyman but Franklin has absolutely not proven more dangerous as a pro.[/QUOTE]
Filip hrgovic also beat a moses that's learning on the Job LMAO.. remember moses itauma didn't have a lot of Amateur Fights also he only boxed for 31 Rounds going into the filip hrgovic fight so moses itauma was 100% Green LMAO.. this is not like David Price who had way more Experience overall than Itauma as he had 90 Amateur Fights while Ituama only 24 ...

David price fought in the Olympics he got Bronze and he's won Multiple Gold Medals like the commonwealth Games so David Price Had a deep Amateur Background when he went Pro while moses didn't LMAO.... so moses hasn't even reached his full Potential that's why his Survival skills aren't good and he doesn't know how to pace himself because he lacks the Experience as he doesn't have much Amateur experience or Pro level .... Moses Ituama is very Green as a fighter... Wlademir Klitschko had 140 Amateur Fights that's A lot so he had way more Experience than Itauma when he got Knocked out by Ross Purity ... sorry but filip hrgovic gets 0 credit for beating a very green Moses Ituama...when Itauma has way more experience under his belt and Fights hrgovic again and if hrgovic is able to beat a seasoned Itauma and not a very green Itauma then I'll say he's more talented than Him but for now no he's not.... Filip hrgovic experience and Durability won him The fight over a very Green Ituama.....

AJ and Dillian, known punchers, went the distance with Franklin.

Itauma KOd him in short order, with a peach of a combo and lateral movement.

Itauma still very, very, very bright green. Like a new leaf that has yet to drink the energy of the sun. And he ran circles around Hrgovic making him gunshy for the first time... ever??

David Haye praised Itauma for his chin "One thing we know now, which we didn't before is wow... Itauma has got a good chin... he took shots from a high level guy in Hrgovic"

Cue PinkBeard "ThAtS a FaKe ComMenT, HaYe nEvEr Said tHose thIngs"

"HaYe is an IdiOt anyway... I, RedBeard know better than Haye"

Because it's not relevant and doesn't change the fact that Itauma is the more talented fighter. Even Hrgovic said as much post-fight.

It's because you know that if you do answer the question, it will undermine your limited conception of "talent".

I don't believe Hrgo said Itauma is a more talented fighter. But I'm sure he wants him to go on and do well, as that will mean his win ages better.

I do know for a fact that Hrgovic used the word Amazing, no less than three times when describing how good Itauma is, and also said Itauma is the "BEST" he ever shared a ring with.

Filip not known for being gracious at all, after or before any fight. Quite the opposite actually.

It is the other way around: Itauma has to prove he is more talented than Hrgovic, because he was just carried out on a stretcher inside 9 rounds against Hrgo. He needs to beat fighters the calibre of undefeated Zhang, Joyce, and even Adeleye is more dangerous than Franklin. He needs to win a title. As it stands he has beaten bums and journeymen in good fashion, and had a fast start against Hrgovic before losing as the most hyped 14-0 contender/prospect ever, and that's it.

Itauma may improve, a bit or a lot. But he also may regress, a bit or a lot. He could go the way of Jared Anderson. There is no reason to assume he will come back to dominate the division like Wlad. He could easily be another Haye or Morrison, guys who were not more talented than Hrgo despite more handspeed and power.

Your distraction tactics aren't gonna work here bud. Hrgovic is on camera post fight singing Itaumas praises whether you believe it or not.

You can duck the question, that's ok.

Singing his praises is very different from saying "he's better than me". There is no way on God's green earth that Hrgovic: a naturally confident, even arrogant man, thinks a kid he sent out on a stretcher in 9 is a better talent than him.

That's pretty much what Hrgovic has said several times post fight. He said "I got lucky".

While I strongly disagree that Hrgovic is more talented, in fact I still think that Itauma is the most talented HW in the world, luck was not a part of this. Hrgovic and Abel Sanchez knew that Itauma's style was impossible to maintain over 12 rounds, knew that Moses didn't have the experience or fight IQ to adjust in the mid fight and they won fair and square.

Itauma doesn't have intelligence, durability, mentality or stamina at an elite level. Experience and maturity will not fundamentally change that, and he will struggle to come back from this loss.

Fair comment. I think Hrgovic also knew exactly what he was doing in getting under Moses' skin but pretending he is too dumb to play mind games. It clearly worked very well. Shame that Moses played into it but he is only 21.

Credit to filip. Old man tactics.

Not sure what statement was the one that sent Moses over the edge but he said something about "When Moses wakes up, he just hugs trees".

If you asked me what the most improvable attributes of the game are for a 21 year old athlete, my answer would probably be intelligence, mentality (hiring a better, more experienced trainer might solve these two issues directly) and stamina. In fact, a better trainer might solve all these issues, as ability to pace yourself is a big part of a fighter's stamina.
