Filip Hrgovic is a more talented fighter than Moses Itauma

The question isn't relevant because the comparison isn't even remotely relevant unless you somehow think David Price and Itauma are similar fighters (newsflash, they're not). You pulling out random questions out of your ass doesn't mean anyone has to automatically answer them or "gotcha". Your proposition is that Hrgovic is more talented than Itauma, you have to prove it (because evidently not even Hrgovic himself agrees with you). You're also taking away what Hrgovic actually accomplished that night, which is rather shameful on your part.

Yuri Kondratiev will probably end Itauma's career.

Hrgovic had an excellent trainer who set up a brilliant fight plan for him to win. Itauma had a well-groomed idiot who set him up to fail. That wasn't all of it, but most.

Davison's instructions were pretty good according to conventional wisdom. He was telling Itauma to pace himself, not go for the KO etc. The mistake was picking Hrgovic as an opponent.

Nahh, the mistake was Moses not listening to Ben Davison and pacing himself.

Moses would have cruised to a Points victory.

The second mistake was getting ragebaited by Hrgovic, but it's forgivable. Old man vs Young Boy tactics.

3 of the 5 qualities you listed in favour of Hrgovic are mostly the result of him being in his 30s with full emotional maturity and plenty of experience compared to a guy who was still in school uniform when Covid hit. Nothing to do with actual raw physical talent, which Moses clearly has far more of.

I think this is more an excuse than anything else. Some fighters lack those qualities at any age, and I suspect Itauma is one of them.

Itauma has more talent than Hrgovic in the same way that Morrison had more talent than Mercer.

But generally speaking, a 34 year old is going to have more grit and a better ring IQ than a 21 year old, because they have far more experience and dont have a barely out of teens brain. They have learned little ways to maximize their skillset beyond just relying on their physical attributes.

Its not an absolute given that Itauma will improve, but the odds are in favour of it. I dont think many fighters are at their best at 21. To be fair to Hrgovic 34 is slipping out of prime too.

As far as Morrison goes, he was very physically talented but with an obvious Achilles heel that massively held him back.

As you know, I was specifically talking about me preferring the much faster and more agile athletic prime Usyk with much sharper reflexes and reaction time at HW vs the versions of the fighters he did actually fight at HW in his mid to late 30s than the slower and easier to hit past prime version whose reflexes and reaction times were not near as sharp and obviously I mean one who would've been training for 12 round fights not 5 round ones and I believe an athletic prime Usyk would've handled them easier or much easier than he did. You can take any version you want

But again, any version of him beats any version of them because he's simply the much better fighter, including your boy Belly.

Which version of Belly do you want?

The younger pre-layoff version who was getting ''gifts'' against John McDermott

Getting dropped heavily, dropped or hurt and almost dropped by featherfisted CWs and featherfisted/light-hitting bums like Pajkic and Firtha?

The wild boar juiced version circa Hammer and Wlad, assuming he hadn't been on the juice prior to then too?

The post-layoff version who beat bum Dosser and went life and death vs Otto Wallin and getting hurt by him in round 12?

Take your pick but Usyk beats them all and he should already have a KO win over Belly

Usyk was already more than skilled and talented enough at 25-26 to outbox or even stop those guys

Again, I'm talking about specific fighters not HWs in general. Moses might be better at 21 than he is at 34 and seeing as he's a speed based reactive fighter like Usyk will likely not be as fast and reactive at 34 as he is now. In fact, I don't believe he will be.

And I wouldn't say he lacks heart, chin and discipline and I don't believe you actually believe that either. His chin is still unproven vs the kind of elite HW power Hrgovic's is proven against but it's not been proven to be weak either

There is no quote which matches your description. Hrgo is better and he knows it.

You are a far bigger fanboy than I am. I'm not the one claiming as fact that a version of a fighter who has never had a pro fight would be far better as a pro than the version of the fighter who actually existed. If that were true Usyk would have just gone straight to HW and toyed with Wlad, and not spent 3 years fighting journeymen at cruiser before fighting Glowacki, then another 4-odd years before his first serious HW fight.

"The wild boar juiced version circa Hammer and Wlad, assuming he hadn't been on the juice prior to then too?"

Obviously this one, you're wasting your time writing about the 21 year old McDermott Fury and the Pajkic Fury. Fury also didn't fail any test for Wlad, so if he was juiced for that fight then tests are inherently unreliable, and Usyk is almost certainly juicing too.

You can't wax lyrical about how much Usyk has allegedly deteriorated when Fury has been far less disciplined, to the point of extreme self harm. I would take a 2015 Fury over 2015 Usyk, given that Usyk had never done 10 rounds, only fought above journeyman level in the amateurs and WSB, and that version of Fury with Peter was a significantly better outboxer than the one Usyk fought, coming off the Wilder trilogy and an SD with Ngannou.

Usyk and Itauma are nothing alike, Usyk has far more dimensions and always will. He is not purely a speed/reflexes fighter like Itauma, and he has the elite mental strength and discipline to stay at the top for a long time, which Itauma lacks.

"I don't believe you actually believe that either."

Of course I do. Itauma's weight has oscillated as much as a young Tyson Fury's and he is known to like the "nightlife". He said he doesn't like boxing, wants to make his money and get out, and this is at 20/21, when he was winning all of his fights. I don't believe he has high level discipline or mental strength, in fact it is quite obvious he doesn't. And Hrgo is not a world level puncher, yet he was hurting Itauma as early as the 3rd round, having him wincing and grimacing. Itauma is also low IQ, delusional (claiming he was more skilled than Usyk, and a high IQ fighter, when really he's very fast, very accurate, good power, fairly big and southpaw) and has an engine problem.

I'm still yet to see what talents Itauma has that set him so high above everyone else. I didn't understand it before the Hrgovic fight and it will forever remain a mystery.
