He didn’t look fat for those first six rounds, some fighters just don’t look athletically impressive but it isn’t a body building contest as Fury likes to say.
It's 2026. No excuses these days. Obviously there are exceptions. Itauma is just a lazy ******* who smokes marijuana and doesn't do enough cardio or sparring. Facts.
1) Of course Itauma is not literally fat. 2) He is a little soft. 3) For some HWs that is fine & they can have really good endurance & skills. Prime Holmes was somewhat like this. 4) For Moses-more so when he is so young-it comes from never even training for 12 rounds.
That's great, because he still whooped Hrgovic and outclassed him for 8 rounds. Imagine Itauma actually started training. He would be even more dominant.
People still pushing the completely debunked lie that Moses didn't train for 12 rounds. TalkSport are still pushing it despite it being debunked on there by Fabio and then Scott Welch The same Davison trained Fabio who went from no amateur career outside of a few white collar fights, winning the vast majority of his pro fights early, and never having been past 7 rounds before to an extremely gruelling and draining 12 round war for the ages vs Frazer Clarke in what is one of the best HW fights in a very long time The same Fabio whose greatest wins came via TKO in round 11 and 10 both of which extremely gruelling affairs for him Whose sole defeat was in the late stage of round 11 after having absorbed a frightening amount of punishment for most of the fight and who was loading up on big right hands spamming and missing with them for most of the fight Scott Welch said his fighter was one of numerous sparring partners who helped Moses go the 12 rounds in preparation for the fight and that the last round was like the first with Moses swinging and going for it not gassed When Welch told GAD that about the last round being like the first GAD interjected that he'd ''heard about that'' so they already knew Moses had sparred 12 rounds Ben Davison told Rob Tebbutt 2 days after the fight it was untrue that Moses didn't spar 12 rounds So why is this narrative still being pushed so heavily including by the British press and social media channels?
If he really did training for 12 rounds, it's actually more concerning how his cardio deteriorated so bad as a 21 year old and certainly points to issues with his fitness and conditioning. I suspect he has poor diet habits and looks sort of like the typical college pothead tbh. Drop the weed and the munchies will subside.
Probably low testosterone, you can exercise all you want but when your levels are low or you have receptor issues you’ll be either really skinny or pudgy.
It might not be a case of being pushed...since Moses himself said he had no idea if he went 12 rounds, as late as Aungust 29th. He also expressed no desire to, saying he would be paid the same anyway. Looking it up now, it seemed he finally went 12 later in camp in the weekd before the fight. So often people assume consipracies-or call names when folks have honest disagreements, or presume bad or dishonest intentions-when there are numerous reasons for people not knowing, poor communication-in terms of how & what is shared when... Many videos say things ike he said he never went 12 rounds in sparring. Saying he had no idea & he did not think so is very similar. But the info that he finally DID, did not get out. And when Itauma seemed relatively tird & breathing heavy from almost the beginning, then increasingly so by the middle rounds, & bravely fighting on but just throwing punches had him staggering around like a sterno bum... It makes sense to think it was a case of poor preparation & conditioning.
The two worst things for a young man's testosterone levels, are having excess stomach fat and smoking too much weed. Both are known to elevate your estrogen levels. At 21 he has the time, resources and youth on his side to get into the best shape possible. You can hate on AJ for a lot, but the man from the get go always came in trememndous shape.
The other week was the reason 21 year old prospects rarely take on solid ranked guys in their prime. I cant think of any 21 year old heavyweight that beat a guy as solid as Hrgovic in the last twenty years.
21 year olds don't have baby fat what the hell lol. When have you ever seen a world class athlete LOSE fat as they age? It's the opposite, they're at their meanest and leanest in their 20's and get softer in their 30's. Yes he's fat by his archetypes standards. Speed & power based Heavyweights should be lean as ****. He should look like David Haye or Deontay Wilder, not Kabayel, Parker or Hyrgovic.
