What´s funny is that Benn did the same mistake that Haney did; believing Garcia to be a one trick pony and treating him as such.
Yes, Garcia has a killer left hook and relies on it heavily, but his game has now evolved to the left hook and the threat of it being a tool he uses to set up other punches. If you focus on only the left hook then Garcia will tear you apart with the right hand.
Nonito Donaire´s opponents used to make the same mistake at one point.

I’ve been extremely impressed with how improved Ryan has become, I honestly think the rolly fight was a fluke and Ryan either wasnt on the juice or didn’t take the fight seriously. A determined and focused Ryan is hard to beat and I favor him to knock haneys ass out again, and doing the same to Shakur who I think is incredibly overrated. On the outside I don’t see anyone defeating ryan not even boots ennis, who so far has only beaten come forward fighters with lesser skills.

 

Benn is just a crude brawler, he always fights that way, he was in way over his head.

 

He didn't complain, he had no business being in the ring with Garcia.

 

Who cares? Benn was awful, he looked like he had cement shoes on.

 

It was a little bit, but tbf I rewatched this afternoon (a couple of times if I’m honest!) and the ref did say to Benn just prior “you need to show me something”
It did rob us of a full on knockout though, absolutely no doubt about that

 

Stoppage was a bit early but Benn literally had no answers and wasn’t going to win. Most of us can’t stand premature stoppages but then we also have to be reminded of fighters like Prichard Colon who suffered dearly.
