It’s the more the tactic of walking straight into the firing line with your chin in the air.

Commentators mentioned Garcia having his Chin up in the air as well which is crazy since Oscar was one of the best at tucking his Chin in and keeping it down and out of reach.

Not disagreeing!! Hopefully we can agree, however, that one aspect of this is - obviously - Benn's highly questionable punch resistance!!

Early in Benn's career he was decked 3 times by Cedrick Reynaud who had a modest 5 stoppages in 11 wins.

So that fight probably shows that Benn did have a bit of shaky chin.

But then again Benn took good punches off a bigger man in Eubank Jr in their 1st fight.

I think honestly it was more the speed of Garcia that Benn couldn't see the punches coming.

    Different class of fighters.

Garcia is known to be one of the most explosive punchers at the weights he competes at, and he dinged up Benn constantly from the opening bell.

he actually recovered ok in the end... was still bobbing and weaving with guard up when ref decided to stop it.

This is one reason why I absolutely hate premature stoppages!! The only thing Benn was getting ready to do was to take a faceplant on the canvas, but this ref's unjustified early intervention allows glass jaw deniers to engage in this kind of unfounded speculation!

Wasn't Benn dropped by some obscure French jorneyman twice in round 1? He surely was

If he continues fighting at this level, i think someone’s going to spark him clean out sooner or later

One of his most telling lines was something like 'I took the best off a super middleweight in two fights, do you think I'm scared of being hit by a lightweight?' He ****** around and found out, a puncher is a puncher.

The sports pretty much broken at this point. You cant grow into the 160 lb division then try boil back down to 147 the same weight you we,re fighting at ten years ago as a 19 year old and expect decent results.

The guy Benn beat was seriously weight drained himself. Eubank.

To top it off both Benn and Garcia are drug cheats.

I think its pretty clear Garcia has far too much for Benn but he never really stood a chance after going up to 160 and trying to get back down to 146.

At some point someone has to regulate the sport properly. Drug cheats. Weight manipulation for big money offered etc. These promoters need to take a back seat and someone with sense should be organising the fights properly.

My main take away from his recent performances not that I had any doubt really but he was 100% juiced to the gills on that run he had when he KO'd Algerie, Vargas and Van Heerden.
