    On September 12, former heavyweight title challenger George Chuvalo passed away on his 89th birthday. As a tribute, The Ring presents a Best I Faced feature with “The Great Toronto Hard Rock” from 2014.

    Thanks for posting this. What thoughtful and welly reasoned responses George gave. Even in this article he sounds like a class guy. Rest in peace, Mr. Chuvalo.

    Interesting he said The Rumble was the greatest fight he said he had ever seen. Too bad he didn't elaborate.

    I recall this posted here before, thank you very much!

    But Chuvalo God Love him, always had a very favorable & somewhat unrealistic view of his work.
    He had Ali in trouble once or twice in 1966, & virtually gone in the rematch in round 5?!?

    If the referee let their fight go longer Foreman would gas & get KOed?

    He was a great guy & extremely tough.
    Like saying sportswriters told him he deserved the rematch with Ali though...I doubt we can find a shred of evidence for that.

    I saw a "Joe Louis, this is your life" clip where Braddock said to him it was even until Louis KOed him.
    No, that is also delusional. :rolleyes:
    But they were great men!
