Now that he’s made one successful title defense against Benn who else around his weight would he have to beat to finally be considered on the P4P list? Would beating Teo and Paro be enough? Or does he still need a clean win over Haney to finally get his just dues? Who knows, maybe we might see Garcia become undisputed at 147.
I think he has to avenge that Romero loss emphatically, for starters, and then Tank, if he can stay out of prison and get back in shape, but that's not a prerequisite if Tank can't screw his head back on. I give Garcia a better chance without the ridiculous rehydration clause, but I still don't think he beats Tank because he's just not technically good enough. He'd have to avenge these 2 losses and beat Haney, Paro and Teo to get into the top 10 P4P for me, and I'd be extremely surprised to see him go 5-0 against this crop. I could see him beating Haney and losing to someone like Teo or Caterall, maybe even both of them.
if Garcia beats Haney at welterweight that would probably move him into the top 10 from a pound for pound perspective. Other than that, there isn’t very much at his current weight class that would move him into the top 10.
An American whinging about an American not being in the top 10 P4P? Come on. Why is David Benavidez in the top 5 when he's yet to face the best fighter in any of the weight divisions he has campaigned in? He's ranked above Bivol, ffs. And where is Opetaia? Nine successive defences of The Ring & Lineal Cruiser championships. Many on the road. When Opetaia flogs Benavidez the American media will push their own midgets into the top spots on the P4P lists. Talk about endless self-gratification. Get your hands off it for a while & get some perspective.
A win over Teo puts him on P4P list. He should avenge his loss to Rolly but now that Rolly isn't a champion, there really isn't much inventive to fight him. He should tell Haney to pound sand. Ryan doesn't need him, he'll earn big paychecks without him, but Haney will struggle to see any significant paydays unless he fights Shakur, but they are both dancing around each other jockeying for bigger cut of the purse.
He has to beat everyone, he is good, but not a great at this point. But he was fighting a bollard who needed more than a miracle to win. Like how the living truck did Benn get approved for a title shot? Then there is the matter of being paid $14 million for a 4.5 minute appearance, $52,000 per second, good golden handshake anyway.
If he beats Teo he’s p4p top 10 Frankly if anyone put him p4p top 10 right now I wouldn’t be too mad considering he whooped Haney
Teofimo Lopez, maybe Rolly rematch at most I count the Haney fight as a win, you can’t deny what’s crystal clear to the eye, that picogram didn’t magically give him a Lightning Left Hook which the opponent could not defend Garcia put the beats on Former Undisputed Champion Diva Haney with the world as his witness.
Both Tank and Shakur seem to have no interest at all to fight Ryan at 147. Shame because a possible win over them would surely help Ryan's case as a P4P fighter. Guess he'll have to settle with picking between Teo, Paro or Haney.
