With so many talented boxers, why does the boxing media pay so much attention to Conor Benn?

    Groves?

    Get outta here

    Who over rates Nigel?

He is remembered for being in entertaining fights, capable of beating high level fighters and being tough as leather

Nobody, not even us Brits believe he is the best ever or anything

Not likely. McCallum probably also handles him without issue. There's a big gulf in ability which is probably why he didn't fight them

I don't understand why he gets a pass for not fighting them

He comes from a rich fighting family
He has the biggest promoters backing him
He performed well in his early step up fights
He is generally very exiting, or at least was so early in his career

And honestly, he has that IT factor. IMO, even without the Benn name he probably would have been more popular than his skill set would suggest.

I’m not talking about impact on boxing, just straight skills. Groves was a better fighter than Benn, it’s just he has wins over Barkley and G-Man that gets him overrated as hell.

    We'll never know

Him and Eubank probably should have done more in regards to USA fighters but they genuinely didn't have to for the most part
Big money was available in the UK

Either way Benn was a great entertainer

I agree but my comment was an answer to why he doesn’t get the attention from media that others, like Benn. Ppl just don’t like Haney.

Sorry what they are top class wins which ever way you shape it. Barkley obviously has wins over ATG Hearns, Van Horn, Olijade
    and Gman Jacksonx2, Mugabe,

It wasn't as if Benn was the only one fouling Vs Gman so I'm not sure how beating top tier fighters means he's over rated. Nigel could probably have a win over Eubank as well.

Fan friendly all action style - won some lost some but beat big names and finished 45-5 over rated? not really he was top tier. Would he have beat Jones think his chin would have failed him as Jones was the bigger guy, Tony would have been a war and again probably you lean towards JT but loosing to either is no disgrace..
