I will never understand how any fighter can fight with a broken jaw. Ever. I’d never fight with one, I’d just hope it never gets broken. Getting hit on it over and over and trying to concentrate and throw your own punches? Wild.
Why is he sounding better all of a sudden? For a while he's been sounding really punch drunk in interviews, but he sounded like old Joe in that video. Hope it means his head is alright; man has taken A LOT of punishment.
Hergovic is built for Joyce. Joyce is amazing against slow fighters. Joyce gets exposed whenever he fights someone quick (or someone who has a strong chin).
Still probably better than most of the division tbh. But Zhang definitely eroded it big time. How he quit in his last fight too is also a worrying sign.
He DID beat parker and dubois wasn't super slow either. When he was in his prime I felt speed didn't matter. If you were speedy, you needed awesome stamina to beat him. I think Joyce was really good for a while until zhang came along.
Brain damage is what we like to correlate boxer's speech the most with, but truth to be told mental clarity and hence speech can be related to shitload of things. Reckon how many non-boxers seems to be foggy and mumbling on their off-days, during difficult periods etc.
