George Chuvalo dead

Was such a great guy, met him years ago in Toronto at a conference for indigenous youth. His hands were bricks when I shook them! RIP legend.

 

Rest in peace. Great guy, fantastic history. Been in the ring with them all.

 

RIP. Always carried himself with class. Faced friggin' everyone, Will be missed.

 

One of the greats. He had that most important of qualities of a successful boxer, a very sturdy mandible!!

 

He's a legend for his chin.

 

One of the best when it came to heavyweight tough guys.

Legend has it that he was also a well renowned rugged arm wrestler in all the local night bars in the mid 80s until he suffered a horrific arm injury against some fly by night guy called Seth.

Well, to be fair, Foreman was well on his way to send him into orbit when the ref saved Chuvalo's life.....

He had to wait until a fellow iron chinned Croatian warrior won a belt for Croatia before dipping out and for his birthday to arrive! One of the last of a dying breed who endured hell in and out of the ring. Rest easy George!

Absolute cast Iron Chinned Warrior. Took some of the most savage punchers punches of his era and shrugged it off like nothing. He proved “that punch would have KOed anyone” is absolute nonsense.
