Who is the greatest heavyweight still around who professionally boxed in the 60's?

    He was seen as a stiff test for a young Foreman, remembered for George pushing Boone to the floor, a tactic he would use to good effect in the title win over Frazier.

    Agreed. Kirkman just edges out Chuck Wepner, imo.

    Aside from necessarily being the greatest I’ll just address notable as per a quick scan of of the Rings Top 10 ratings during the 1960s and any fighters who appeared listed in same at one time or another: -

    Alex Miteff 91 years old

    George Logan: 85th Birthday wishes posted to FB back in 2021 (see below). Couldn’t find any more recent info on George though.

    Finally, honourable mention for Bob Cleroux who passed only just last year aged 86 or 87.

    Just an update re George Logan. The first reply on this FB page dated 3 months ago and submitted by an apparent relative (same surname: Logan) states that George was still alive and well as at that time - making him about 89/90.

    Joe "King" Roman was 27-6-1 in the 1960s (beating Chuck Wepner and Jack O'Halloran). He challenged Foreman for the title in 1973.

    Billy Walker was 21-8-2 in the 1960s. Nicknamed "The Golden Boy," he was a British hopeful who received a fair amount of publicity in England on the way up. His notable wins (all in the 1960s) came against Thad Spencer, Joe Erskine, Charley Powell, and Johnny Prescott. He also lost to Karl Mildenberger, Henry Cooper, Brian London, and Jack Bodell.

    Jack O'Halloran was 18-5-2 in the 1960s (beating Manuel Ramos and losing to Joe Bugner and Joe "King" Roman). His first fight in the 1970s was a loss to George Foreman.
