FANTASY FIGHT: Manny Pacquiao vs Julio Cesar Chavez (15 Rounds/Poll)

Manny with speed and angles, I don't think he would take too much punishment to the body. I think he would find Chavez' chin and keep him away. Being a southpaw and punching from odd distances with lunges and variety, Chavez will take explosive punches and keep coming. But I don't think he finds Manny enough to get the win.

 

Julio figures out Manny over the long haul. He was a more intelligent fighter who adapted to faster guys and hurt them. Pac had his moments of being very basic but overwhelming physically. Julio sniffs out the basic part before the physical advantages hurt him.

 

This is suitably close in the polling - great matchup.

 

Chavez knocks Pac out.

 

Never really thought about this one.
On one hand, it’s true that Pac preferred come forward fighters, and Chavez wasn’t all that fast.
On the other hand, Chavez is fast enough, and tougher than Manny, and better than anyone Manny ever beat.
I have to go with Chavez UD in an excellent fight, at least over 15 rounds.

 

Just weighed in with my vote.

JC Superstar by slow suffocation. He is steady and relentless and adjusts to Pac-man’s speed by mid-fight, timing him with right hands to the chin and battering the body as he begins to win the exchanges.

Somewhere after 10, JCC comes through with the finisher.

 

How things have changed. Just ten years ago, even well after Pacquiao had risen in weight, if somebody had suggested that Pacquiao could ever beat Chavez they would have been laughed off.

 

Think JCC could work his way back into this one late but he'd be already cut up badly,Perhaps Sweet pea was the best southpaw he faced,Anyone else similar to Pac?

Oh ! I'm sorry Rummy, with all of the talk of fighters like Rahman, Ibeabuchi, and Oliver McCall fighting again I thought this was an actual fight . I would favor Manny as Julio is 64 years old...Now in their primes?
At 130 -135 lbs the steroids hadn't kicked in yet, and this ain't Eric Morales in front of Manny,
