Does Floyd deserve more credit for not being a big weight cutter?

Whatever credit he gains he lost using illegal IV's.

 

Yes, but they never will. Floyd despite his matchmaking has a very good resume and never did any weight bullying.

Oh and statistics heavily suggest the majority of top level fighters are taking PEDs

 

That was for PED masking. It should not take away from him being actually small at the weight class. When he fought Victor Ortiz, was a case of an actual Welterweight fighting a Middleweight.

I used to defend Floyd when it came to PED´s, and the IV, but now I think he definitely started taking something after the Cotto fight; his body composition changed and he became a lot leaner afterwards, even tho he was now in his mid 30s.

Mayweather dragged Marquez up 2 divisions to fight at a pre-agreed catchweight and then still came in overweight and had to pay an enormous fine. That was probably the biggest factor in the fight, and it was a completely deliberate tactic. The Marquez fight is one of Floyd's best wins on paper, but when you read about the catchweight agreements and deliberately missing weight, it becomes one of his most questionable.

He did the same to Canelo; he boiled him down to a 152 catchweight, knowing that he'd be depleted and couldn't even make light-middle anymore, never mind the 152 catchweight. Canelo should never have agreed to that anyway, but Mayweather wouldn't have agreed to the fight without it. Mayweather wasn't as bad as some fighters, but he was smart and knew how to leverage weight in both directions, whether he was bullying or forcing fighters to boil down.

 

The IV situation IS pretty hard to ignore so I'd say no he shouldn't get extra credit. It is what it is.

 

Of course he was. Roid Floyd. But he was such a hypocrite about it. That's why I don't like him. He had a voice, the Mayweathers, so he tried to fix it to where he was the only one on roids in the fight. He pushed for every advantage he could.. and got it.

 

What evidence do you guys have that provides proof he was on roids ? Honestly I seriously dislike Floyd but this is the one thing I can’t stand about boxing fans … it’s one thing to think someone is juicing but if you’re just saying “ we all know he was on roids “ like it’s matter of fact it’s like ok well no you have to provide a reason as to why you think that… I hear the same thing today people are saying that about Bud … it’s like ok maybe he was on steroids but you have to say why that’s true you can’t just say that

You have a be a naive fool if you think the majority of top competition aren't taking illegal substances. Two people with the same talent and training the guy using enhancers to enhance his training experience and recovery will have the marginally better results because of biology

 

I remember he got in trouble that one fight about the IV after the weigh in was it ? Does that mean you’re on the steroids I’m honestly asking I don’t know the correlation

 

That means he was most likely masking steroids in his body. I wouldn't care, really, but he was such a hypocrite about it.
