Jared Anderson is a far better athlete than Kabayel, Dubois, or Hrgovic. But too bad for him that there are other factors besides athleticism when it comes to being a great boxer.

Uh, people, we are talking about 39 year old Ali here.

Watch the fight with Trevor Berbick if you need to refresh your memories.

Berbick was nothing too special and he smashed Ali around the ring for most of the fight. Ali was shot to bits. It looked like he was fighting underwater and Berbick just walked through his punches like they weren't there. Ali's defence was a sieve. The only thing Ali had left was his ability to eat punches, and boy, did that come in handy. Here, let me help you:

Verhoeven would massacre this version of Ali and anybody who thinks otherwise has a bucket over their heads with a picture of Ali's ass glued to the inside.

I meant athlete as in his achievements, not just genetic potential.

He's one of the best Kickboxers of all-time and obviously boxing is a major facet of being a kickboxer.

His ability to follow Peter Fury's gameplan also showcased an astute athletic mind.

Cooper was much more dangerous than Rico as a puncher.

Most people are talking about Prime Ali in this thread. I only quoted Redbeard7's post because it was absurd how he was defending Usyk's bad performance against Rico. A 39 year old Ali is not a credible matchup, as he literally had Parkinson's disease. Ali in 1978 is a far closer comparison to a 39 year old Usyk.

Berbick, despite not being “special,” was better than Rico, so I do think Rico won't look as dominant.
