Bakhodir Jalolov vs Solomon Dacres set as co-main event of Dubois-Wardley 2 in London on Oct. 17

Good development fight for Jalolov. I still see him as doing nothing of note in the pros for the simple fact he fights like an amateur and his heart isn't in the pro game.

 

nice finally a little step up for jalolov. has to make soloman fight look easy to have any hope of even contending at world level

 

This is really no great shakes.

 

I don't see Dacres providing any more intrigue than Smakici, in fact he will provide much less given his record of three KOs in ten wins. I suppose if he turns up in good form he could stretch Jalolov a few rounds, but he won't do more than that.

Awful fight. Jalolov is a double Olympic gold medalist in his prime, and Dacres is a domestic English-level fighter who fought one fighter of any note and got flattened in 80 seconds. What is Jalolov even trying to achieve at this point? He's had more pro fights than Itauma and is still fighting nobody of any caliber.

 

It's a ****ing joke that this gets co-main status with top contenders, mind...

It's a bit of a step up - a million miles from where his hype seems to put him (still).


I just don't get why a 32 year old prospect fighting a guy with a TKO1 loss to a journeyman gets put on co-main alongside a title fight?!
Make it make sense!

 

This just confirms the fact we have already known, Jalolov is a ***** and will never go anywhere in real boxing.

 

Let's put this another way...

Wardley is co-maining an event with a guy who was shown levels by a guy he showed levels to.

It's absolutely insane.

Jalolov is gash as a pro and this is an insult to the rest of the card.

 

I don't get it. Can we be sure that jalolov even got the option of better fights for his development?

I mean he certainly has some talent so why wouldn't he try to make it to the big fights in order to actually earn a lot of money...

By now I always want to ask the question whether talented fighters from poor/small countries are just kept away from the lucrative roads to the top.

You can argue kabayel and hrgovic didn't apply themselves as much as all those great british and american fighters we have seen in the past. But you could also assume that it's a tiny bit harder to get relevant fights for them or to pay for them...

You see what taking all possible fights got Opetaia (who is from a smaller boxing country). Before zuffa I assume all his fights put together didn't earn him as much as dave allen earned in one fight.

 

The argument from silence...

If he wanted better fights, he'd be screaming for them or he'd have already had them.

He's got more than enough profile from the Olympics - even being from an unpopular boxing nation, there's no reason for a promoter not to give him his chances.

The most logical answer is he's in charge of his own destiny and just doesn't give a ****...

And that's fine - but he shouldn't get talked about as if he were a serious proposition if there's zero signs of working towards proving that.

 

I'm clearly in the minority but I don't mind this fight. Dacres beat an undefeated fighter, Sirenko, who then went on to outbox/KO Otto Wallin. Yes he got KO'd by Adeleye but Adeleye is a bigger puncher than Jalolov. If Jalolov wins this dominantly then it could be a springboard to the top 10 guys... if he wants it.
