His strength was as the strength of 10 men because he was pure of heart.

Not much I recently watched the Bruno fight and loved the beating that Bugbear got, especially after running his mouth like he did. His punches couldn't crack an egg. Sorry for the negativity but Bugner is one of the few boxers that I really disliked.

He definitely got the people whipped up in to a frenzy back then, but I honestly think a lot was tongue in cheek.
Plus helped to put bums on seats.

Strengths: Tall, excellent reach, big guy overall, granite chin, fast hands and could whip out a decent power shot from time to time.

Weaknesses: No real love for the game, insufficient output during a fight which might’ve been due in part to being a bit muscle bound - he lifted weights before taking up boxing.

    Hi Andre.
You make some valid points, all of which I agree with, the conundrum of Bugner was, in the gym when sparring he was much more aggressive, really letting his punches go, one time when I was there Andy Smith felt the need to shout " time " to save a sparring partner from a beat down, so yea, he was the typical gym fighter, as they were called at the time, also he is huge in the flesh, I have been in the company of a few HWs, Bruno, Mason, Meade, etc, Joe made them look like MWs his rather high pitched voice was a strange anomaly, also I got the impression he felt undervalued in the eyes of the British public, and sometimes acted accordingly.
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.
    Mike.

His got physical gifts like his height, size, and reach.

He's also blessed with a good chin.

His jab is also pretty solid.

I think those are his biggest assets.

His biggest weaknesses ? Not having enough desire and not being consistent enough.

I also don't think he used his size advantage enough because he was a big Heavyweight for that era.
