    I agree with that.

    Ideal format would be:

fully no gloves or wraps, emulating the boxing techniques of the turn of the century bare-knuckle brawlers, with more emphasis on body shots compared to head shots, and not signing middle aged fighters who have already taken years of head damage in their previous sports.

Ken Shamrock tried real bareknuckle with his ValorBk promotion but it failed both times which is a shame.

If knock downs are “violent” to you, fights sports might not be for you…

Now I’m curious, what else is “violent” to you, wind blowing too hard?

Violent by combat sports standards. Its not normal for there to be so many knockdowns in every single event. Even in boxing its rare because it requires the entire card to be complete mismatches. And I have watched enough BKFC to know that this is not so for every one of their cards.

Be it MMA, boxing, Muai-Thai or kick-boxing: you rarely ever see cards feature as many knockdowns as is the regular for BKFC.

BKB may be a home for clubfighters and hasbeens(mostly because its not profitable enough for elite talent to go over and get their faces messed up) but all combat sports are full of guys way past their sell date still trying to make a buck who are taken advantage of because of their name. So singling out BKB is a bit unfair. It should be criticized but it has made some improvements over the years. I remember many on this forum were happy when Trout was in BKB doing his thing winning belts but as soon as he got KO'd BKB is ugly and has to go. It's not going anywhere. People tune in. Boxing, MMA and Kickboxing all have their hazards too. Remember when the likes of John McCain wanted to ban or at the very least restrict MMA? Many boxing fans echoed this sentiment(partially because MMA made them insecure) but it was looked down upon by most boxing fans. Now there's much more respect for it. Early MMA and BKB have a lot of parallels. Early MMA was actually much more savage. BKB might well have a lower ceiling for growth than MMA did during its early days, but the room for improvement is still there.

    It doesn’t make them violent.
Knocks downs/knock outs makes the fights exciting but not violent, it’s still a sport with rules, rounds and referees.

If you want to know what real violence is, check this out:

I dont get why you are so infatuated with the word violent, a word that I myself did not use. My point is that bare knuckle is a lot more dangerous than other combat sports, and my evidence for this is the sheer amount of knockdowns in each event. Knockdowns are concussions.

I dont care about the perceived brutality, or the cuts, but I am worried about the predatory nature of this sport, the athletes it draws in and the number of concussions in each event.
 Mind you, I think soccer kicks should be legal in MMA.

If you watch a lot of BKFC a lot of the knockdowns aren’t because of concussions but the pain, knuckle on bone hurts a lot and if the skin breaks a lot of people just quit.

It wouldnt matter if the elite athletes or rejects did BKF. The knockdowns come either way, the sport is too brutal. That means fighters will have shorter careers, less blows to the head. Thats how it works...

Because I have been hearing how violent boxing/mma/MT is my whole life. I’m tired of hearing the word violent in a sport where you have rounds, referees and judges.

The video I posted is violent, no round, no judges and no rules.

idk who used the word violent first but someone said it. I myself don’t like BKB, I think it’s boring and stupid. This comes from someone that have fought Boxing, kickboxing and MMA.

Should be banned imo. Boxing has its flaws by all means and should be tightened up in regards to mismatches....weight draining match ups etc.

But BKB just looks like a bunch of vulnerable people being exploited. These people are going to be brain damaged before long. I also dont think much serious drug testing is being done and most of them are on something.

The rules are pretty simple if your good enough have an mma career or a boxing career and if your not get a proper job like everyone else. Saying that i think mma is too violent as well. Boxing pretty much hits the sweet spot imo.

Boxing needs to sort itself out in terms of giving say Dave Allen opportunities to get pummeled over and over again against guys out his league. Shouldnt be happening. It needs to be far more regulated but things like BKB are just idiots exploiting people to their demise in the end. I,d ban misfit boxing also. Probably harmless but attracts idiots and doesnt seem to have much regulation. Pretty sure Luke Dyson was on the other week. The kids had about 180 fights. Been allowed to fight every couple of weeks for years. Just a massive lack of regulation.

What's your definition of the sweet spot? I believe more boxers die in a typical year than have died in the entire history of modern MMA.

You're basing it purely on the appearance of superficial damage, cuts and blood mainly. The repeated sub-concussive blows caused by repeated boxing glove strikes slosh the brain around in the skull in a pretty violent way.

It's been established that MMA, despite appearances, is a fair bit safer than Boxing.

As I mentioned with bare knuckle, it could potentially be safer, but they still use hand wraps and hire well-past-due fighters who have already taken on too much damage.

The OG bare-knuckle fighters probably didn't have the same brain health issues as modern boxers.

Its a numbers game thats skewing them figures. Far more registered boxers than ufc fighters or bkb fighters. Thats why the figures look better for ufc and bkb.

Boxing lets itself down a lot but its more regulated than say bkb.

The boxers nowadays seem a lot more defensive minded....their sparring less etc as the sports had time to evolve. I dont think bkb have either that time or the willingness because its probably one guy encouraging maximum violence to sell the next ticket.

It also attracts far more idiots. You,ve shown the world more violence and in return it becomes more violent. That level of violence is now more acceptable which rarely ends well. I m pretty certain most bkb stars will end up brain dead far more than boxers. Boxers do need more protection but a lot of them nowadays are getting out the game with their faculties intact. The bkb guys wont. It attracts people that are far easier to exploit.
