Could RJJ Remain Unbeaten Against The Following..?

Anybody who thinks Jones comes close to defeat, or even loses more than 3 rounds against any of those guys needs to visit YouTube. The Jones of 1996 was almost superhuman. Just a generational sporting talent. Froch himself would say as much. People will probably say Ward has the best chance, but he never faced anything like the combination of speed and KO power Jones had. There's just no path to victory for any of them.

 

Assuming he was prime for each fight, probably, yes.

With a big but however........... the wear and tear factor. Jones is certainly one of the worst at it. He literally fell of a cliff in the absorbtion deprtment. Facing back to back to back against that level of competition will rear its head with the wear and tear issue. That's how he loses. And it would not be a particular opponent matching up with him--- it'd be that deterioration setting in on a given night against any one of those guys.

 

I agree a past prime RJJ could lose to any of these guys.

However, if the RJJ from the Toney fight stayed at SMW and fought these 6 back-to-back over 2 or 3-years, I.e. smack bang in the middle of his prime, I don't think the fights would be competitive or hard enough to cause meaningful wear and tear.

 

Benn would have a punchers chance and RJJ never really fought a fighter in his prime with 1 punch KO power. I think RJJ would win by stoppage in the middle rounds but possibly in 1 out of the 10 meetings Benn catches him.

Eubank has admitted himself he didn't want to face a prime RJJ and he wouldn't beat him that says it all. Eubank would go the distance but would lose a clear UD.

Collins was actually supposed to fight RJJ and some say RJJ avoided him but I don't believe that personally. But I think Collins would give RJJ a rough night no one really had an easy time with Collins, but in the end RJJ would win a clear decision in a surprisingly more competitive fight that some may believe.

Froch is too slow and way too hittable the speed difference would actually be comical watching it in real time RJJ wins a wide UD.

Kessler a good technical fighter but I don't think he has the tools to compete with RJJ and he loses a clear UD.

Ward is a bit like Hopkins so it would probably be a bit similar to RJJ/Hopkins 1. Ward wins his fair share of rounds but ultimately loses a clear decision in the region of 116-112 RJJ would simply be too fast.

 

I'm not sure anyone beats Jones at 160 or 168 ever. The speed , power and conditioning were exceptional.
