Because Oscar is hugely popular, good looking, happily married, insanely wealthy and successful six weight champion. Thats why people some hate him. Jealousy.
But in this dance someone could get ktfo !! And a good big man usually beats a good small man ..The only sham in this one is Oscar for agreeing to make this fight .
It wasn't Pacquiao running after this fight and offering insane amounts of money, Oscar offered Pac a lot of money, you can't turn-down a once in a life-time offer like that if you're Pac. It's Oscar that started all of this and made the offers.
Exactly and if there is anybody to talk **** about it would be Freddy Roach who basicly talked Manny into this fight. Manny is a fighter a prizefighter its his job to step up and fight and make the most he can, its the Job of Roach to look out for his fighters saftey, and this guy is supposed to be like a son to freddy:-(
He is all this. But he Really only won a REAL World Championship when he beat Feroz. 6 time Titleholder, for sure. But there is a difference between that, and a REAL World Champ.:good
The width of the shoulders is what's so striking. De La Hoya looks like Andre The Giant complared to Manny.
Oscar should get 100% of the blame for three reasons and three reasons only: 1 Oscar could have fought other opponents and provided the public with a match-up that people ( DLH fans and non DLH fans) would have liked to see such as against Tito, Cotto, Margo and Williams just to mention some; 2 GBP and Oscar proposed this fight and the bussiness opportunity to Manny Pacquiao and not the opposite; 3 The courageous effort and the risky positioning is offered by Manny and not by Oscar who is not a top P4Per and will not have to skip two weight classes ( almost three since Pac only fought once and lately at 135 lbs)... I do not consider such an effort Oscar going down to 147 lbs.
Everyone calls out Oscar. Big deal. The whole significance of "calling out" opponents is so greatly blown out of proportion on boxing forums.l Manny is tiny compared to DLH, and will most likely get beat pretty bad.
Because Pacquiao is smaller, and the one taking the bigger risk of beating his ass kicked. Fighters will always go for the big payday, and that is (or should be) accepted. But we'd at least like guys to fight these big names in their own, or maybe one, weight class below them. Not a guy who's been at 135 or below his whole career, and you've been at 150 and above for 7 years. Pac's taking a big risk by facing the considerably larger man, so he doesn't get the criticism. If Pacquiao said "I'm fighting the winner of Campbell/Guzman" and then elected to fight Izzy Vazquez, he'd be getting criticized. And Izzy would get credit for taking on the bigger man.
To get accept a challenge which will earn you 5 times the money you'll be earning a in regular fight is not foolishness . . . that is being smart. Especially in this case where Pacquaio doesn't have the final decission. De La Hoya have the choice . . .Pacquaio was dragged into it by the amount of money being offered . . . that's the difference. There's no shame in losing to a fighter who is much taller and have a longer reach than you . . . especially if that guy is a 5 divisional champ himself. Yes . . . it's for money!
I never know you were so narrow minded. Will YOU run away from 10 to 15M usd++ and a 3,000,000 USD per pound OVER WEIGHT?! and fight guzman who can offer a fraction of what he'll be getting.. For the sake of arguement ODLH shows up 2 lbs heavier that's instant 6,000,000usd :nut :nut :nut :nut for PAC! I know you DON'T like PAC but I NEVER KNEW you were NARROW minded too! Yes, I know PAC will have a high of 1% chance of winning but 15,000,000 USD MATCH?! Are you going to RUN away from it?! One's thing for sure! Pac has the BALLS while others don't!
